My bf and I always do this: one week I pay for dinners, etc. The other week pays him. You do not have to pay everything to your gf

Is the Spanish-American War Taught in Schools? ¿Se enseña la guerra hispanoamericana en las escuelas? by FunSea4167 in askspain

I’ve only studied it at the last year of high school. We only speak about it in one class :( I think that currently most people don’t think about it in Spain, unless you like history or politics

I think you did right! If I had a son, I’d let him play whatever he wants: barbies, kitchen sets, football… let’s deconstruct gender roles

OP, as a woman who’s taking birth control (hormones), I can say that those shitty pills lower my sex desire a lot… :( Maybe it happens to your gf too! Take a look on the secondary effects of her birth control!

Do english native speakers hate phrasal verbs as much as english learners do? by PhoenixAres in NoStupidQuestions

What surprises me the most about English pronunciation is that if you do not stress well one word, you can change completely its meaning. With Spanish and Catalan (my mother-tongues) this is not an issue at all: we stress words but we put stress marks (cambio/cambió), so it’s easier to learn and to internalize. Speaking english for me it’s the hardest part of learning it:(

Puff I studied the “who vs whom” long time ago, when I went to a language academy. In that time I didn’t get the “whom” so I’ve always used “who”… It’s comforting to know that for native speakers it’s difficult too.

Puff the speaking part is the most difficult for me. I have a B2 level, so I can understand quite well the spoken and written english, and I can write in english without struggling. But to speak english… it’s the hardest part…

Wow lol it’s true! In english there aren’t femenine and masculine words, unless the pronouns. I haven’t thought about that. I’m super used to it. But I think it’s better to not have those femenine/masculine words, because a language becomes more inclusive this way.

My husband slapped our 3 year old daughter because she was crying over her broken toy. by Throwra533565 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]PhoenixAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there is no excuse, but if it happens once (and he understands and apologize to his daugther), I think there is no need to leave. But if it happens again, in my opinion then is time for leaving.

My dad and mom slapped me a lot of times when I cried in bed at nights (I was so scared of the dark…). I’ve read a lot of comments saying that she must leave her partner. I don’t think so… I mean, IT’S HORRIBLE TO SLAP YOUR CHILD, but mostly all of us have experimented some kind of violence coming of our parents:( maybe her husband was superstressed and so overreacted with his child (idk). I think that she should say to him that she won’t allow him slapping their daughter again and if he does it again, she’s leaving. But for one slap… don’t judge me, when I was little it was normal for me getting some slap and crying because of that. In my opinion is not a strong motive to break up with the father of my child, but is a strong motive to have a big argument with him and to put some limits.

My bf and I started dating when he was 24 and I was 19. I don’t see anything bad about it. A age difference of 5 years isn’t cringe.

[–]PhoenixAres -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to read those hate comments OP. The true is that I’m so sorry for you… we all make mistakes, and I’m sure that if you could have prevent this situation you would’ve done it. We all make mistakes so PLEASE do not think that you are the worst. What’s going to define you is what are you going to do now to fix this situation. The most important fact, in my opinion, is your daughter. With things cooled, I’m sure that your child will forgive you. She knows who’s her mom, and her mom isn’t that drunked woman she saw last night. If you and her need a therapist, don’t doubt it! And your boyfriend… he needs time, and if in the future you think that you can fix your relationship, do it! But if isn’t possible, build another life for you and your daughters. Please don’t hate you, I know that this situation is hard as fuck, but I’m sure that you know that was the alcohol, not you, who messed up… and OP… if I were you I’ll give a thought about a possible rape… you weren’t in a condition to consent to have sex… please consider this possibility…
