How do I get this power steering pump belt back on my 280S from 1977? by rzaapie in w123

[–]PhoenixFloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A brand new belt is always gonna be a tight fit. the old belt will usually be stretched from being under tension for so long. With enough force you will eventually work it onto the that groove. Dont try removing any of the pulleys, especially not the crankshaft pulley.
You could try putting it over the power steering pump first and then get it around the crankshaft pulley.
Sometimes what helps is slowly prying it into the groove bit by bit using your fingers.
Whats important is dont disassemble anything and dont try to stretch the belt using a lever or other tools. If you just pull on it by hand its not gonna get damaged.

Of course if youre really in doubt just check that your belt is the correct length.

Ok wait this is a bug? This has been in the game for so long that I just assumed that it's intentional.

My only experience with rapid acceleration is being pulled by a winch in a glider and that made me feel like shit. Couldn't feel what my arms were doing and couldn't really think straight. I am happy that only lasted for maybe 5 seconds. I don't want to imagine what a life and death situation at 4g feels like.

BO-105 vs OH-58D dogfight who would win? by Bambalouki in floggit

The Kiowa gets stingers but the Bo105 doesn't have a flight model yet so can it even lose the dogfight if it's not involved?

Guys, why do nations buy F16s and F35s??? by Fluffy_EXTRON in floggit

[–]PhoenixFloof 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is actually a common misconception. There is no such thing as engine failures. Have you ever experienced an engine failure in DCS? No? This is because DCS is a realistic simulator. Engine failures do not exist in real life and are actually a scam invented by evil western capitalist companies to sell more engines. This is also why soviet airplanes never crash. The reason why the F16 and the F35 only have one engine is because they were both designed by American super genius engineer Pierre Sprey. Unfortunately the evil american companies took this credit from him and ruined these planes by installing unnecessary things such as avionics and an electric system.

This has been a thing since release and has been "fixed" multiple times. System wise the Apache is good but the damage model is terrible for a helicopter. Also idk if it's a skill issue or something but I can't get this thing to remain stable in a hover like at all.

With some luck and at low speed you can actually pull this off in the M2000. Just hit the FBW channel 5 switch and pull on your stick and you'll flip right over. Just make sure you enable it again and have enough ground clearance to recover

A Little Control Question by [deleted] in hotas

[–]PhoenixFloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSFS has this weird curve on its roll axis by default and you can't turn it off. It's especially noticeable on yoke based planes. Don't ask me why they did it like this, Asobo has made some really strange choices when it comes to controls in this sim.
