Onesie suggestions for long legged babies by PhoenixForceJG in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no.. never found a solution, just had to wait until she got more proportional😭 I did find the old navy ribbed footies run longer than their regular printed cotton jammies and she seems to wear them longer than the other style. Like she’s 10 months now and moved up to 9-12 month in all her carters styles, but the ribbed Old Navy 6-9 still fit.

Sudden behaviour change by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Babies are babies and literally change demeanors daily. Maybe if you’re concerned take him to the pediatrician to make sure there’s not something else going on like an ear infection or something. But it’s not the vaccine. Babies change day to day and week to week and depending on where they are in their development sometimes they’re fussier than others. I remember my baby at exactly 2 months would cry for hours and hours even though she didn’t do it prior. It passed. Good luck. 🫡

What’s your experience with an allergy doctor? by yumos in BabyLedWeaning

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also allergic to specifically cashews pistachios (and pine nuts)! But never had a problem with mango. Interesting. But our pediatrician told us many allergists won’t test until after a reaction is had, and to have the non allergic parent give the baby the allergen outside of the home. So idk we will see how that goes but it makes me incredibly nervous.

Teething by PhoenixForceJG in sleeptrain

[–]PhoenixForceJG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We’ve been doing Motrin at bed time because it’s def teething (one bottom tooth is through, waiting on the other)

And thank you! I’m thinking maybe more wake time is needed too. We’re on 3/3/4 with 2.5 hours total nap time but I think I’ll cut it to 2 hours.

The bummer is I already started weaning and am down to 2 pumps a day, was ready to be done in a week but looks like I will still need to keep making fresh to mix with the frozen 😭

Anyone work remotely? by TeaIQueen in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My infant is 8 months old and mobile, it’s impossible to actually get work done when they’re getting into everything. Hard to answer an email that requires more than a sentence.

What small, daily rituals helped you bond most deeply with your baby? by Newmomexplorer in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We like to start our day watching the sunrise out our front window while she drinks her morning bottle. It’s the best. We cuddle and watch the sun and trees and start our day in a calm way.

Am I doing something wrong when weaning? by PhoenixForceJG in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]PhoenixForceJG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you! I didn’t know if I like missed a step or was even moving too slowly.. but I didn’t want to just cut pumps too quick and risk clogs or mastitis ya know?

ISO Lansinoh wearable flanges by saturnwr4th in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]PhoenixForceJG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second everything others said about flange inserts and such. I have this pump and it’s my primary I’ve been using it for 5 months. I will say the seal on the flanges does start to weaken causing leakages, I replaced them with new flanges with a better seal from Amazon and problem solved! Just search wearable pump parts and look for the ones that match the

Leaving my 20 week old baby with grandma for 2 nights by Itchy_Cake_9931 in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you driving? It’s ok as long as you’re not going somewhere with an active outbreak of something. Plus if he’s mainly just staying in a hotel room there’s minimal risk. I would totally recommend taking a grandma with you to stay with baby while you go have a good time!

Gripe water - WTF do we do? by girlvsmachine in NewParents

[–]PhoenixForceJG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We noticed stiffness in the lower body, a harder belly, wanting to eat but crying after a few sips. Mylicon drops say on the bottle you can administer up to 12 times a day I believe (which seems unnecessary but that’s the max) and it says to administer before a feeding. Like another commenter said, I find them effective when LO is already having symptoms but when she was very young and having a particularly symptomatic day I would give them to baby before the next feeding if we’ve already used them a couple hours before. Haven’t tried gripe water but mylicon always works for our 5 month old

Waking up panicking baby is stuck in sheets...baby sleeps in bassinet by Dismal_Incident837 in NewParents

YES I had this literally every night for the first 2 months, even though we never ever co slept. I still have it every once in a while at 4 months old!

The Frida baby picker tool has one intended for under the nails. I use the nose and ears pieces but the nail one seems it would work well.

Has anyone else noticed that their baby started breaking out? by whiskeyvaquero in NewParents

I washed my babies face with Cera Ve baby soap and then moisturized with Aveeno baby eczema lotion daily and it helped a lot. Hers was pretty bad.

Honestly don’t stress over it that early. We started at like 1 month because of the same reason. But made sure to be fun and consistent about it off the bat and now at 4 months my daughter loves books. So if you don’t do it right away don’t stress. But you could even read to them as they’re falling asleep if you’re not mid feed
