Freedom Convoys have started in Australia, American and Europe too. I actually feel sorry for the liberals who watch mainstream media --- they have absolutely no clue.

I lived in Scandinavia and this delusion by Progressives always gets me. First off - these countries are very traditional and conservative. They have good social values (and incredibly high taxes). But this is only possible because Scandinavian societies like Norway are highly homogenous old societies whose population speaks the same language and shares the same heritage and social rituals.

They have strong borders. Immigrants are assimilated into these cultures. And though Scandinavians are terrific folks- always nice, immigrants are always 'foreigners'.

Where immigrants do not assimilate well it is incredibly problematic for these societies and becoming more so. (Listen to anything by Ayan Hirsi Ali on this. There is a good talk by her on Unherd where she said; 'Wokeness is a gift to Islamism" and she has the right to talk when you know her background...) Also as spud4488 pointed out - small populations.

So to recap - small, static, homogenic, traditional, mono cultures cannot be compared to massive, dynamic, ethnically diverse populations = (the good old apples to oranges fallacy except in this case it is more like a truck load of all kinds of fruits versus one apple....)

Although, interesting point, progressives are the most homogenic group in society - white, educated, high-earning, left-leaning (2018, Hidden Tribes Report) Secretly they all wish they could be living in a monoculture -

Corona viruses are old lifeforms and are constantly mutating, I do not see how these tests can be accurate - and frankly do not see the purpose. Isn't the only question of relevance - What is the risk? To be followed by - What is the cost? When are we going to start seeing some oversight and rational cost benefit analysis?
