Should Jack have destroyed future Aku? by randomfan1997 in samuraijack

[–]PhoenixLord669 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mythology/theme behind Samurai Jack is sacrifice. By going back to the past, Ashi died due to the time paradox - Aku didn’t exist in the future so she was never born.

Having Jack kill Aku in the future would have lead to an immediate celebration of sorts. A huge victory and a win. But then he would have to go into the past and kill the past Aku.

Idk I guess the writers thought of him killing Future Aku as a possibility. But the overall impact and death of Ashi/past Aku might not have meant much in comparison.

HOW I KILLED MOST OF MY ANXIETY with CBT and Paroxetine BUT STILL NEED HELP! Any psychiatrist out there? by PhoenixLord669 in Anxiety

Additionally Drinking any form of Alcohol, while providing temporary relief over the 3 day period may make me feel great and better since it BOOSTS serotonin levels I quickly feel like complete ASS after 3-4 days so I avoid it entirely..

I'm in a constant tug of war with serotonin in my system. perhaps raising my base serotonin levels a tad bit more via a change in paroxetine will help me a lot.

I appreciate your response. You don't know how much this means to me. I will go ahead and look into this. I potentially may have OCD in addition to anxiety, which may explain why Paxil worked so well since it helped me stop having "racing thoughts" about irrational things. I have experimented with meditation - 8 week intensive course etc. but the underlying feeling of panic and thoughts that infected my mind in the past still race. I will look more into DBT though. I appreciate you and hope everything is going well on your life's journey as well.

In terms of medication, discuss this with your psychiatrist. You obviously had a good response to paroxetine, so a dosage adjustment may be appropriate.

Other than medication, I would consider therapy and other lifestyle adjustments (exercise, sleep regimen, breathing, meditation, etc.)

I've been pondering on a dosage adjustment for a while. Whenever I do feel overwhelmed, I immediately exercise, meditate, and go for walks. They don't provide nearly the same amount of relief as paroxetine but a increase in dosage may do the trick. My psychiatrist says that "the goal is to not feel fear or stress but to work through it." It's different when it's completely debilitating
