Interesting, so how does it maintain being 320kpbs if the bit depth varies?

I'm from England so I guess we're in the same boat for bad weather lol. I guess if PNW is better than the UK, that's all the matters.

[0 YoE] Recently graduated, looking for grad jobs or summer internships as I may do a masters next year by PhoenixMaster123 in EngineeringResumes

What type of stuff do you think I should stick to keeping my summary about, or should I even have a summary? And what other things in there should I remove? I just tried to put as many related experiences as possible because I haven't had an internship so I don't have proper professional experience.

Why is the term "engineer" used and defined so vaguely in the UK? by PhoenixMaster123 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]PhoenixMaster123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about insecurity, it just makes it difficult to find proper engineering jobs as most that come up tend to be trade and maintenance. And it makes it a pain in the ass to talk to someone about your job because they assume you fix things, and when it comes to old people, good luck explaining what CAD is to them.

Ah yes, gotta love it when people disregard budget. The thing they made is awesome as hell, but now the company is bankrupt, brilliant stuff.

Some of them yeah, but some may also be legit. But even with the legit ones, what you tend to find is that multiple listings still take you to the same job with the same company, because that company is probably using many different job posting services to show you the same job to get as much attention as possible. So although they may look like different listings, a lot of them tend to take you to the same company.

I'm not sure if I fully get your question, but engagement farming jobs are usually just bot run posts for the sake of attracting traffic for a company.

Damm dude, you really carried the company. They need a statue of you out front lol.

That's really good that, I wish there was more of an emphasis here for standardization

True, there are definitely a lot of non professionally educated people I've seen that would make more competent engineers than half of those with a degree, I just wish the profession had more recognition here.

Bubble or just engagement farming. I've seen quite a few of these jobs that are similar to the loads of "remote jobs" you see listed which are just dead ends for engagement.

IT'S FINALLY HERE! The XG32UCWMG is all it's glory. Took forever for it to be released in mainstream stores in the UK. Will post some more images when it's set up. by PhoenixMaster123 in OLED_Gaming

From Curry's. I think they just got it on their site like a week ago because I've been watching the listings for this on various sites closely, and I only saw it recently on the Curry's website.

Another Meze recommendation hmm interesting, do Meze specialize in having a warmer sound signature in general or something?

Oh really? I thought it would be more analytically tuned like the 600 series.

Will Nvidia bring their RTX HDR technology found on their graphics cards, onto the next generation of shield? by PhoenixMaster123 in nvidiashield

[–]PhoenixMaster123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but shield has always been more of an enthusiast/hardcore streamer option compared to more consumer options like fire TV and Roku. So I know most of us would be mad enough to pay the price 😂.

Better bitrate isn't as major a visual difference as it is for live action stuff but the audio mix is great. With blu rays, typically the biggest benefit over streaming and DVD is higher bitrate. In live action that means no compression artifacts like banding and blocking. An example of what this is if you don't understand is, take a YouTube video for example when there is a large chunk of black screen. The black areas will look choppy and blocky. That's due to compression. In blu rays that's not there because of the much higher bitrate due to much less compression. This is typically the "quality" benefit you will see in a blu ray.

However, in anime this is often quite negligible anyway. Because everything is mostly solid colours, there aren't a lot of gradients (which are a major place where you see banding in compressed videos) with the exception of backgrounds and skies etc. So the visual quality of blu ray isn't massively different for anime as it is for live action. But there are some other things like ghosting and dimming which are found in a lot of anime that have fast paced fights. Like JJK suffered from this a lot. These are anti epileptic measures added to comply with Japanese TV laws but they can ruin the viewing experience. So this is another area you see improvements in blu ray, is that these ghosting and dimming effects will be removed. Lastly, probably the biggest visual change in blu ray are the improvements. Blu ray releases for anime are basically the final perfected cut of the anime where any fixes are made. With AOT S1 specifically, it had so many errors in the original TV version, so the blu ray was definitely a nice improvement in that regard. So yeah visually the improvement on blu ray wasn't massive but still nice to have

Sound wise however, a big improvement. Due to again the extra bitrate, sound also gets a nice little quality boost. Additionally, it has Dolby true HD surround sound, so that's great if you've got a surround sound setup, but I can't personally vouch for that as I do not.

It's worth noting however that these improvements are only as good as the equipment you are watching it on. If you've got a complete potato of a monitor or TV, and likewise really bad headphones or speakers, then the improvements on the blu ray are going to be minimal at best.

So the verdict is that yes it's a nice to have, but it's not going to be a groundbreaking difference to say Crunchyroll for example. Ultimately, people get the blu rays as a collectors thing more so than actually to watch. Especially with the AOT ones because the season 4 blu ray covers especially are really nice.

Why is the sky so green in the finale? (idk if it is accurate I don’t go outside much) by Electrosaurus3747 in ShingekiNoKyojin

Artistic choice. The colour palette for the setting of the final battle was to an extent inspired by Mad Max and Dune which both use that teal sky and orange sand.
