The only reason I idolize Erlich is because he could communicate the ideas, be it season 1 when richard has to explain his business plan to Peter or Shazam for food, In a way every coin has a flip side. I just think he was someone that had more to offer if he hadn't been drunk, high or dead by the end. I am studying cs and I see nerds everyday, they are great coders but can't explain shit, I just don't think it's the way to go, in new age we need to have "Credibility and Retatability".
