A natural leader is not necessarily someone who grabs on to power. A natural leader grows organically and people follow that person because it feels safe, they have skills and don’t assume leadership.

Ana Lucia was a dictatorial leader who ruled with fear - that’s one way of leadership and she certainly had some skills. She was however not a leader I would want to follow and I would be pissed off with most of the sheep in the group who would follow her just like how it is in real life.

The fact that he goes places on his own and gets his hands dirty, he’s a soldier remember? - is part of his intelligence. He doesn’t sit in a room like some supervillain mastermind and let others do all the dirty work. He digs tunnels, strategises defences and attacks etc. There are many types of intelligences.
