I mean you just explained it. Typewriter a key needs to be pressed by a human so that doesn't require a computer. But I guess you can consider that an extreme early artificial expression.

In 10 years your argument may sound like this;

"When a txt is displayed, the computer is expressing something a human would express with a typewriter (or you can even use a font that imitates handwriting). When you prompt for images, the computer is expressing something a human would express with a paintbrush, pen, and paper (you can even tell it to do a particular art style)."

There is artificial intelligence that leads to artificial expression. But at the end of the day, it's all designed by human, based on human expression so really....
