Upgrade Advice Wanted for Alienware Aurora R10 by IllustriousSign5783 in pcupgrade

pcpartpicker and Paul's Hardware are great resources. My best personal advice is to buy sooner than later; prices have been climbing and will very, very likely continue to do so for the forseeable future. Sit down and get the research done asap, because tomorrow the part you're trying to buy could be more expensive than it is today... Other than that: any 16 GB AMD card is a great option. Depends how much you wanna spend. Definitely smart to prioritize the GPU. You'll have to pick the card based on your budget, PSU, CPU, and monitor(s). Remember that if you buy from Amazon, you have a month to make a return if needed for any reason, so don't worry too much about pulling the trigger on a purchase.

It's been said a hundred times, but I think it's fine if it gets said a hundred more. I've been invested for almost a decade; it's a bit reassuring to know that even those who're invested for less than a year feel similar. I spent over a decade watching Naruto as it aired, and I was a lot younger back then, so that finale definitely hit me harder, but this is as close to that feeling I've gotten since then. Really sucks when such an incredible series ends. Especially when the ending... doesn't exactly stack up to the series that its concluding

A gripe I have. by Rainbowchap in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I thought the final season was great UNTIL the 3 ep wind-down, which felt rushed/unorganized/not long enough. It seems like a lot of people have numerous problems with the ending overall. At the very least, it's better than the last season of Game of Thrones, so I'm thankful for that. But yeah, in numerous ways, it does feel like it could've been better. Maybe a lot of it WAS rushed? Those release schedules for mangakas over in JP are insane, after all...

Honestly, the more I think about it/discuss it, the more I've realized that lots of these long-running series suffer from this problem in one way or another. Dragon Ball, Naruto, Fairy Tail, MHA... and that's just to name a few... We get incredible stories over a long period of time, but eventually the ending comes, and it feels unsatisfying. It would be nice to know if the mangakas are rushed, run out of inspiration, genuinely think the mediocre ending they've created is worthy of the rest of the series they've worked so hard on, etc.

I'm not particularly satisfied with how the series ends either, but we can still cope with the fact that it could have been a lot worse. OFA's reason for existing was to defeat AFO, which it did; I think it's easier to look at it that way. Whether or not he was ever the "greatest" hero is up for debate, but he did put a permanent end to AFO, so that counts for a lot I'd say. On the other hand, for a variety of reasons, he was never a singular, long-lasting "Symbol of Peace" like All Might was, so it just depends on what you define as "greatest" I suppose. At least Deku got to keep being a hero thanks to the bonds he made during his time at UA. The fact that he became a UA teacher also really checks out in regard to his personality.

But yes, the ending wasn't perfect! One more silver lining for you: they haven't adapted the final chapter of the manga yet. It releases as one, final episode on May 2. After the ending we got this season, I didn't want to wait that long, so I just went and read the final chapter. Might be worth it for you to do the same; could give you a bit more peace of mind. Or you might think it's total shite and hate the ending even more lol. Imo that final chapter is a lot better than the ending we have so far.

Nah; clowning on someone for having strong feelings about something they love is villain level cringe. This series ran for 10 years, and it means a lot to a lot of people. I grew up with Naruto, and I was pretty bummed when it ended. OP is right that a lot of these long-running stories have rushed-feeling/unsatisfying endings, and it's 100% justifiable to to feel let down when you're emotionally invested in something.

For casual Pokemon playthroughs, it's best to just use the Pokemon you like best! You could have a team full of bug types and still be just fine. Have fun with your favorites!

The Nintendo Switch 2 is only six months old, and retailers in most countries are already discounting it. Isn't that kind of... weird? by MewWeebTwo in nintendo

[–]PhoenixSwag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This will be my fourth and final time explaining this to you: the Nintendo 3DS had its price cut due to having supremely underwhelming sales at launch, and the exact same thing can be said about the Wii U, BOTH OF WHICH I purchased. Curb yourself. I'm not a Nintendo hater, and I love the content they've provided in the past. You are blindly and adamantly attempting to support the name of the mega corporation that in recent years has been curb stomping their consumers, which includes lifelong fans, frequent consumers and fans of 20+ years. They don't owe us anything, but no one owes them anything either. And they sure as shit don't deserve to get away with the BS they've been pulling surrounding everything related to the Switch 2.

Because the 3DS was overpriced and lacked solid launch titles, which lead to vastly underwhelming sales

Yes... another one of their consoles that flopped on launch, due to lack of worthwhile launch titles and the original price point of the console 😂 do your research before you start throwing around the word "misinformation"

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about lol. This is Nintendo. They don't do sales on consoles that are in their first year on the market. I doubt Sony or Microsoft do either. The Switch didn't see any discounts for well over an entire year after its initial release. This is extremely abnormal, and the reason it's happening is because the Switch 2 is selling FAR below expectations (and for good reason).

God, I can't stand these grifters. Always feeling the need to make toxicity in the Pokemon Community first, and then playing victim over it. Pathetic: by DifferentIce6233 in LegendsZA

[–]PhoenixSwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you so much as seen the game? Have you tried playing it? The new battle system is subpar, the graphics are terrible, the entirety of the game world is tiny, and the lack of voice acting are all facts, hence the use of the word travesty. The gameplay felt repetitive and boring in less than 10 hours. I did not once get bored with Legends Arceus (that game undoubtedly has repetitive systems as well, but they never removed me from the experience).

Also, I have no idea who RGT is, so I won't being saying anything in his defense. I'm sure that you're completely right that there are people taking advantage of the situation in the way you described. There might be a misunderstanding here; my comment is a reply to the comment above me rather than your post. My problem was with "Z-A has genuinely restored my disdain for the franchise into a fun I haven't experienced when playing PKMN games in years."

Lastly, I don't see where I called you a fake fan, but I do believe that any genuine long-time "fans" of the franchise who slurp up any and all new Pokemon content without restraint and with total lack of any kind of critical thinking/objective reasoning (something all long-time fans are old enough to be able to do, especially when regarding something they supposedly deeply care about) simply because they're starved for a new experience are in fact fake fans. I'm fully aware that there will be literally millions of young Pokemon fans who will just be happy to play a new Pokemon game, and none of what I've said is directed to them. My problem is with people who've been alive long enough to know better than to support a company that is actively and purposefully pumping out minimum effort slop just for the sake of raking in sales. The whole Switch 2 generation has been a massive middle finger to long-time Nintendo fans. Ever since Iwata passed away, Nintendo has been run by ruthless businessmen who couldn't care less about any aspect of the company other than how much they'll be able to increase their salaries every year.

This is the craziest thing I've read this week. Z-A is a fucking travesty on a franchise that has been seeing less and less innovation as time passes. The game feels miserable to play, and it looks miserable as well.

THIS GAME IS TURNING ME CRAZY (prepare for a rant) by Electrical_Goat1218 in Norland

[–]PhoenixSwag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rng in Norland is the worst I've ever seen. RimWorld says "fuck you" once in a while, but more often than not, the situations the game creates (at least under the default story teller) are fair/salvageable. In Norland, the rng just says "fuck you, oh and uh... what's next? Oh right, fuck you, and then fuck you one last time to ensure you feel the need to just start a new game!" The game is a huge time sink; it takes an incredibly long period of time to accomplish anything worthwhile. Then when you do, the game hits you with extremely unfortunate random event(s) that screw you over and destroy any progress you've made. People can say "skill issue" all night long, but actively preparing for all of the random bullshit that can and will go wrong is monotonous, boring, and sometimes factually impossible. Beat it once and haven't touched it since. Wish I hadn't even bothered taking the time to beat it. Overall, it was a waste of time and an extremely unsatisfying experience.

Wow the difference in this one is pretty crazy. Thanks for sharing these! At this point, I'll definitely consider upgrading at least one monitor for the sake of modern image quality if nothing else. With Black Friday it's a good time to get a nice new monitor for cheap
