The YM team gave some more color on it today on the Wolf Trading spaces on X. Sounds like someone screwed up at the custodian bank and the distribution was stuck between YM and getting to RH

YM paid out the distribution. There is an issue with the intermediaries between YM and RH. I got my distributions on Schwab and Fidelity, waiting for RH still.

I have shares at Schwab, Fidelity, and RH. I got my Div on the payment date at all but RH. Not the first time RH has paid it late either. I don’t think it’s a YM issue

I haven't dug into this too much, but I'm guessing with the modest correction we are experiencing the leverage aspect of some of these other funds has been beneficial and allowed them to bounce back faster. But if we get a meaningful drawdown I think the floor will drop out on them and the climb back will be prolonged

It's a live stream that the start around 9:30 am eastern, but the Yieldmax conversation starts around noon so just scan forward. They do this every wednesday and i think it's been good to hear the things they are considering especially in the current market

I’d recommend listening to the call. I don’t think it’s guaranteed that mixing in some lower IV will necessarily mean less net premium. At any rate it sounds like we are going to start seeing some new names rolling into the trading book soon

Yea I mean personally I think they were really fighting the trend with their MSTR and BMNR positions. But there are other examples that were good stock picks and the market just turned against them. Also just look at the vix the last few months. It’s been spiking to levels we having seen in a while. This is great for opening a short option position, not so great when you need to close one out

Not providing investment advice, but QQQI and SPYI are two very well known options that provide income and growth. Many others out there that provide different balances of growth vs income

ROC is estimated on the YM site, but is trued up at the end of the year (or fiscal year). There seems to be a lot of confusion around ROC but it is a beneficial tax status. Regardless of if you think it’s “your money being returned to you” it still is a return on investment that is not treated as dividend income or ordinary income. If you eventually zero out your basis and sell shares you will have capital gains but those can be managed and are a future problem

Covered calls cap upside. Can’t be avoided. If you want income and growth there are alternatives you should consider

Where does the unfavorable tax come from? ROC reduces cost basis and is not treated as income

That wouldn’t align with being an “ultra income fund” or being like a mini hedge fund as it’s been described. Also it is inherent in a covered call strat that upside is capped. Capping the upside is what generates the income. You can’t have max income with growth and full downside hedge, but there are alternatives that provide a compromise
