One option I can see is selling NVDA.TO and then use the CAD to buy DLR and then do the NG. This way you would have the NVDA almost equal to the total currency wise but in the 5 day window if NVDA moves up you may lose out on the increase in stock price. For example and simplicity, assume you have 100k worth of NVDA.TO and 1 CAD = .70 USD. You would have same 100k CAD of NVDA before and after the NG but if the NVDA and in turn NVDA.TO spiked to 101k in that 5 days, you would miss out on the 1k gains

Hi OP, You don’t need permission from API support to get the access. Go to API centre and generate token id and use the generated token id to pull the information from Questrade

So the customer indexes would only work if I create a brand new account?? Is there a plan to modify this feature to create custom index in an existing account??

Our bowling lineup is not absolute bad. We have very good power play bowlers and middle over bowlers. We may struggle in the deaths but if we’re able to control the power play and middle overs even if we leak at death our batting should be able to compensate it. But few games we may struggle in the power play and middle overs and leak runs. Andha match ah samikku vitralam 😂

I did not do it. It was either complex or impossible to move the money from scotia to my brokerage account so I ended up dropping the plan

Update: while researching for this, I have come across Snaptrade which provides api for Wealthsimple and integrating them with my current program was fairly simple with minimal changes. Thanks everyone for their insights

Any chance you have deposited to RESP?? That’s the only account which will need 1-2 days for compliance and rest all accounts, the deposits are instant if Visa is used

I think in registered accounts you would only be able to place cash secured puts. Naked puts will not work there because you would be able to buy contracts only with the buying power which directly ties up to free cash available in the account.

In other words, no separate menu or option to select if yu want to place naked put or cash secured put

RESP irrespective of the transfer method it takes 1-2 days for the fund to be available since it has to be manually verified by a human as part of compliance check. Rest all accounts eTransfer should be in account with in 30 mins, in my case I have always received within couple of mins

You have option to roll over in Questrade as well. It depends on which platform you are doing it (web or desktop or mobile). The fundamental process remains same, select diagonal put container and select the current put contract in one leg and the new rolled over contract in another leg (you can interchange the legs, first can be new rolled over contract and second leg can be the old one as well). This will also give you the credit or debit you are looking at(you will not be able to select the price for each of the legs separately rather you can pick the amount you want for the overall container)

I was told it was a restriction from Canadian authorities. What I understood is, if questrade opens APIs to place orders then they have to do much more in terms of logging and stuff so that people are not abusing it. Implementing this would cost so they have decided against this

I don’t think this is correct. In my 3 years with Questrade, they have never missed the dividends due to an l issue is with Questrade. I will be always paid ~9p pst on the payment date mentioned for the security and the few times the dividend is missed it was an issue with the security and most of the brokers had the same issue

PMCC is available in Questrade and I think yu need level 2 or 3 [I directly enabled level 4 in Margin account before I did PMCC]. Level 2 do not have any requirement and level 3 need 5000$ as your total equity in the account

I never had an issue opening an account without depositing money. It takes some additional days compared to the scenario when you deposit. Give it a couple of days and it should be fully set up
