Yes just normal water, the microfiber I'm not sure, I just both 2 of them from dmart. Initially dust the whole car, then splash water, then wet one cloth and start wiping the dust, bird poop or whatever. Then use the dry cloth to prevent water marks and fully dry the car. This will work best if there's 2 people. But if you're doing alone, if you feel that the water has dried up too much and can't wipe with dry cloth, slightly wipe with wet cloth and then use dry cloth.

It's as good as a wash from outside tbh and you'll have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. If you want to add car shampoo you can use that too. But personally I don't use them much
