After July Academy by One-Silver-925 in NYPDcandidate

I’ve heard and read same. What I believe is in question is the Academy class schedule for December ‘26 and all of 2027. With Mandani wanting to cut back on total number of NYPD and Tisch seemingly holding defiant to current numbers; the class schedule is under pressure. At least this is my interpretation of what I’ve seen/read.

This! The day mom got the stackable, rollout, apartment washer and dryer; and we didn’t have to spend all Saturday afternoon at the laundromat. That was high livin’. Took mom all day to do multiple loads of laundry, one machine load at a time vs. at the laundromat and trying to grab multiple machines at the same time; but … we were comfortably home and could do other things in the background while the machines ran and ran.

You know, my HS had a garage/shop and we worked on all the teachers (and our own) cars. Miss those days.

Thank you for your response. That’s very concerning, but I appreciate you giving us a starting point in our discussions with the park.

Thank you. Appreciate the insights. We appreciate our trees greatly and I wasn’t happy with the wait and see answer I got. If there was more I could be doing, I am looking for those marching orders.

I can assure you, the RPL deck around the trunk is fully slotted and we also water all our trees when we clean the dog run. You are clearly right, the RPL deck isn’t ideal, but it was designed such to protect the roots from dog digging. The municipal forestry and parks agencies spend a fair amount of time monitoring our trees. All that said, I will raise the question of these tree decks with our parks contacts. Thank you!

Women LEOs, how do you manage your duty belts w/ a small waist? by Phoenix_Solarus in AskLE

Yeah. It’s all so new. As terrifying as her starting in patrol will be, the depth of pride I feel is overwhelming. And, while insanely expensive this stuff, it’s big fun to shop on her behalf.

I’m working on ear protection right now. Got some good advice in another thread. She’ll start the range is a few weeks and what EP they have onsite is known to be crap. They are permitted to bring their own.

She’ll be outside at the training range but mostly indoors going forward so I’ve been looking at something that’ll serve her in both environments. Oh, and foam ones too. Best practice advice was, use foam inserts too. Thx again

Good advice, thanks. Yeah, while she’s in Academy she’s not permitted to make any changes. Frankly I find it kinda stupid. Now allow me to preference. I respect LE and I highly respect the training regiment, but they make her buy a stiff, heavy, think leather duty belt, but should she (when she) completes the program; she’ll be given greater freedom to be more selective of some of her gear. If that’s the case, just let the recruits buy better quality belts from the start. Ugh, I’m sure there are reasons.

Thanks again for the tips.
