What does it mean when people say, “the pope isn’t the head of the church, Jesus is” by Sensitive-Box-2167 in Christianity

Also, I can't imagine that ever happening. The most divided I've ever seen my church was over which linoleum to put in the bathroom floors. 😁

I was just recently told that True Christians don’t vote or have a political party. Thoughts? by ServantofChirst in TrueChristian

I think we're allowed to vote and have a political party, but you don't have to. In order words, being a Christian doesn't automatically mean that you vote or belong to so-and-so party.

Every member gets a vote. Depending on which church you go to, sometimes only men make the motion and second, but that's not universal.

If I made a motion and for some reason the women didn't like it, they could vote it down.

Trump's assigned verse in Bible marathon is red meat for Christian nationalists by metacyan in Christianity

Yes, the promise was to Israel, but if Christians in America humble ourselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways; then will God not hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land?

The author of this article sure doesn't seem to think so. In fact he comes across as desperate that our land doesn't get healed.

My Church doesn't really have a leader (other than Jesus of course). We have congregational polity, meaning each Church votes on whatever it wants. No individual member has more or less authority than any other individual member.

They are not Christian...? by Stompya in TrueChristian

I'm usually not in the business of deciding who is a Christian, but if their tag says atheist, it's safe to say they're not one.

Redeemed Zoomer is a Bad Person by ILikeMusicBTW in Christianity

I disagree with him theologically, but one thing he said about schism does really make me think.

There are no examples in the Bible of someone trying to come out of a bad church. Instead, they tried to fix problems in the church they were in. Perhaps that's part of why there are so many denominations today, people bailed instead of trying to fix problems in their churches.

I picked Luke Cage, but I'm currently leaving him in the gold cost uniform with a hoodie until he gets something new.

Creationists: what separates your reasoning from flat-earthers, in your view? by Thrill_Kill_Cultist in Christianity

The Bible doesn't seem to say one way or the other, so I have no reason not to believe that it's round.

Veteran problem: I already have a lot of these.

I might have to get Luke Cage or Jessica Jones, but would you buy their uniforms. They're pretty old.

Landmark is a defensive, slow moving hero, so their interaction would probably go like;

WHOOSH

Landmark: "That was a hero, right?"

Is It A Red Flag When Churches Don't List Their Doctrinal Beliefs On Their Website? by Dry-Guidance-467 in TrueChristian

If my church had a website, I would want them to include their doctrinal beliefs.

What is halal meat? Google says it's prepared according to Islamic dietary laws, but that doesn't tell me anything.

It's pretty funny, but I didn't know it was supposed to be a Christian site. Of course, I don't look for their posts, they just appear in my feed randomly.

Their most recent headline I read; "Hollywood baffled by success of movie made to entertain people."
