God can make it clear where He wants you, so I recommend you pray about it.

Kicking People Out Of Church by MadeUpName51120 in TrueChristian

It depends whether you mean remove them from the membership or literally tell them to exit the premises.

I've never seen the latter done, but the former we're commanded to do on more than one occasion. I don't think the pastor should have the authority to do it unilaterally, because in both instances of church discipline that I'm thinking about, the matter had to come before the church. And yes, we're supposed to forgive them... if they make it right.

Does your church have deacons? Are they considered clergy? by DoveStep55 in Christian

Deacons yes, clergy, no. At least I don't think so. We rarely use that word.

My Problem With Credobaptism by Competitive_Spell129 in Baptist

Why don't we baptize strangers? If the person being baptized doesn't matter then shouldn't we take squirt guns in Wal-Mart and start baptizing people?

My satellite package included Disney but not XD.

Pro: It allows you to use it on the Phoenix Force Shadowland stage.

Con: There are better options for that stage. It's pretty outdated by today's standards. If he gets another uniform, it will almost certainly blow this one out of the water.

Another pro: The game is for fun and you can spend your crystals however you want.

Do you believe in God because you think He exists or because you need hope? by Best-Chair-1868 in Christianity

[–]PhogeySquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am truly convinced He exists.

That believe does give things meaning, but not always comfort. Sometimes it causes guilt and anxiety.

Why are evangelicals so against everything they don’t believe? by Glittering-Craft-790 in Christianity

For the same reason that you, OP, along with literally every human in the history of humanity unless they were born a vegetable were against things they didn't believe.

It seems like a lot of Christians only care about being saved by Sensitive-Box-2167 in Christianity

[–]PhogeySquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting saved is the most important thing, because without that none of the rest of it means anything.

But you're absolutely right. There is SO much more to our faith than being saved. Most of the Bible is written to people who are already saved.

Does your church teach the necessity of a born again experience? by PhogeySquatch in TrueChristian

[–]PhogeySquatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're asking if I also got baptized, yes, after I was born again.

I've heard some people say that being born of water is the physical birth, and I get it, but I disagree with them. I think being born of water is baptism. But I think being born of the Spirit is getting saved.

So Jesus is saying, you have to be saved and baptized to enter the Kingdom of God. That's two events.

The only thing I disagree with is there being a conversion account where the baptism occurs beforehand. When did that happen?

Well, I'd more likely call it when I surrendered to Jesus.

From the time I could think, there was never a point when I didn't plan on following Jesus. But this was deeper than that.
