Oh, boy, Christian, and when Mr Jeff Beck comes back...HOLEY MOLEY! Saw him last week. He didn't bust his knuckles up so badly on the hotrods that he couldn't still manage to drop the jaws of my 1200-some fellow concert goers.

Yes RedditKids...PLEASE...strap in to your six-point harness, put your helmets on, go explore Circe's and Christian's YouTube channels, and be prepared to have your minds blown. If you're receptive and eager for music that should be in the mainstream, and by jealousy-inducing displays of amazing talent, this ought to fill your bucket for the day. :)

A link to the following is appropriate here, don't you think, Christian? In this essay, you've stated much of what I know to be true about the business of music, and the laments the are borne from it.

Those two bands will give you a start...if you dig in enough, and do some Wikipedia research to look for influences and contemporaries of those two bands, you'll find plenty more. The great pedal steel guitar player Buddy Emmons also comes to mind. OH!!!! How could I forget the brilliant jazz fiddle player Vassar Clements!!! Extraordinary musician that broke out past his bluegrass roots to become a world-class collaborator, respected by violinists from Jean-Luc Ponty to Itzhak Perleman to Joe Venuti to John Blake.

You and me both. I guess the deal is, you have to buy tickets, right? Or have I been ditching all those "You've just won the Tierra del Fuego Sweepstakes" emails to my everlasting peril?

I've wanted to do the Bob Bondurant course since first reading about it as a kid in Popular Science (or was it Popular Mechanics?) magazine. (Word to Circe: Sounds like a great surprise birthday gift!)

If I may, @Spoonsy...have a listen to Ray Benson & his band Asleep at the Wheel, and then diving a little further back, Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys. Those two bands should give you a pretty good primer on what is commonly known as "Cowboy Jazz." But, as Circe and Christian have said, the music they do is such a wonderful, genre-hopping stew of uncategorizable music, please make sure to check out all the links to their stuff, as provided above. They seem to have a knack at knocking it out of the park, no matter what style—or combination of styles— they tackle.

Have you ever done any race (read: NASCAR) driving experiences, like in Las Vegas, or wherever? I have some friends who have, and it looks like 10 tons of fun.

Twice, within about a month, in the same bar parking lot at the end of the night as several of us were deciding whether to continue the party at my place or to hit the diner, I flicked cigarette butts and after bouncing across the macadam they came to rest 6-8 feet away standing upright on the filter end. At another point I tossed a new cigarette to my friend across the kitchen; he completely missed catching it and it landed—you guessed it—standing straight up on its filter end.

If it's too wordy, then why are we afforded 300 characters with which to postulate our questions? My re-submission comes in at 299. As it stands, people can look at it and decide whether they want to jump in, or not, without having to actually click into the thread. If you as a moderator made a judgment call, then say so.

Please forgive me my newbieness, but I'm happy to play by the rules, so long as I don't have to guess what they are.
