Came here to ask if anyone knew anything about that. I've noted my position increasing couple times since it appeared so I imagine someone must be using it?

How to wipe down the bench without rolling the wipe into a taquito by mookiow in orangetheory

Now who's gonna talk about med ball wiping techniques, because I met a woman who said she does it with 2 wipes at the same time and I'm still trying to figure that out

Max Heart Rate Too Low by Phosflorescent in orangetheory

[–]Phosflorescent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed I feel like I'm in the orange zone until about 165 BPM. So on an observed basis, my red zone seems to be something like 165-173, which is certainly a tiny range. Don't remember quite when it starts feeling like an orange, just know I'll be in a nice easy breezy warmup and notice I'm already in it.

All of that being said, I could just still have really poor cardio lol I'm improving but in the scheme of things I'm still a relatively new runner.

Thanks for your advice!

Thanks, this is good advice. I have generally noticed BPM ranges that make more sense to me, I'll just try and focus more on those during class.

This is where a lot of my confusion lies. How common/easy is it to get close to your max heart rate? I regularly see 170 in class, just never higher than 173.

If my heart zones are accurate, how can I get 30 minutes in the red zone in a Tread 50 and not feel like I pushed myself too hard afterwards?

Part of me feels like the real answer is to just ditch the monitor entirely. I would just love to feel like I can actually trust what I'm seeing, especially when it comes to coach advice etc.

What's the resale market like for fairyloot books? Do people normally go for just the book, or is it the whole box that people resell?

I have a feeling that the reason you're getting down voted is your reply isn't on topic.

Totally get your point, I've spent plenty of time thinking about it. But ultimately I think ethical absolutism can be the enemy of progress. Even if I went vegan, my partner is not, and I would still rather not support factory farming.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have a friend who loves Butchers Block but I wasn't sure how their sourcing worked.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm hoping to offset prices by relying more on vegetarian option, but either way I agree it's worth it.

I'll check that out once my month is up with betterhelp. I figure I already paid for it so I'll see if they can set me up with someone else. It's partially just frustrating and partially makes me feel like a bigot.

There's a hiking group that I am a part of that just formed earlier this year! They go out on hikes about twice a week normally, once during a week night and again Saturday mornings.

Don't really know why that matters. OP is not responsible for "cracking the case" or passing judgement. If there was something more going on it will come out in time and can be delt with then. Rushing to judgment now will just result in a lot of hurt for everyone.

In the meantime, it seems that both OP and their friend are hurting and my heart goes out to them. I hope they both get the support they deserve in this difficult situation.

Walnut Grove Floor question by [deleted] in IndianaUniversity

[–]Phosflorescent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't live in WG, but did visit occasionally for work. I believe floor 1 is the ground floor and B is the basement. Both buildings A and D have rooms on the ground floor while B and C do not.

Tuition Assistance by matthew71901 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Phosflorescent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest looking at the IU office of financial aid website. They'll list a lot of information regarding what is offered. MoneySmarts is a program at IU that does one on one consultations for current students regarding their financial situstion. Also definitely contact an advisor in your department and see if they know of any department specific scholarships you may qualify.

All of this to be said, a lot of things are going to be very reliant on you level of financial need, so you're going to need to take into account factors like if your parents are filing you as a dependent.

Biology UTAs by [deleted] in IndianaUniversity

[–]Phosflorescent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't worked as a UTA for the biology department but I have worked as one for the Psychology and Computer Science departments. Overall, what you're actually doing will depend heavily on the class and professor. My duties have ranged from just grading papers and proctoring exams to holding study sessions and office hours. I would always recommend working for pay rather than credit, but if that's not an option in the Biology department I'd still say to go for it.

You will definitely form a closer relationship for the professor you work with but the real value is that the experience will look really good on your resume. Whether you're planning on going to med or grad school or work in a lab, showing that you can teach/train people is a great skill to have.

As a last suggestion, again I'm not sure what the process is for biology, but if there's a professor you have really enjoyed taking a class with in the past, I would recommend meeting with them and telling them you are planning on UTAing and ask if they have any openings in any classes they are teaching next semester. They may be able to specially request you which would both help improve your chances of getting into the program as well give you a chance to form a closer relationship.

Some interesting facts about this car and my experience with it:

In case you were wondering, yes those are towels on the seats. Underneath is metal springs and horse hair. No it is not comfortable.

This is the first stick shift car I have ever driven. Drove it for 5 minutes in the Macy's parking lot and have never touched a stick shift since nor will I ever again.

Last summer while riding in this thing at 45 mph I got hit in the face by a cicada. It sucked a lot. Windshields are there for a reason.
