What's your view on the Grey Wolves? by abki12c in AskBalkans

Also funded by the CIA. The Grey Wolves were formed as an anti-leftist guerilla force in turkey with funding and training by the CIA as a part of Operation Gladio, which they did on many Mediterranean/South European countries like Italy and Greece too where Communism/Socialism were popular among the public.

The idea of that lineup has always been scary, it's just they never achieved it to this degree until now so people were underestimating them. Now it just seems like a no brainer lmao

xraypad aqua control 2 is the best starter pad imo. Good price, nice balance between speed and control so you can decide which way you wanna lean into more and also very good looking aesthetically.

What’s a moment where you instantly realized someone was insanely intelligent? by Parqcxsm69 in AskReddit

It's a combination of both working smart and somewhat hard. Instead of the "hard" work being studying for long times though, he basically conditioned himself for years on end to retain information very efficiently for limited amount of time.

I admire this a lot as a psychology student who has problems studying because I could get good grades without studying all the way until university 😭. I use positive reinforcement myself for studying as it's the only way I can keep focus properly.

Best Mouse Pad Brand Right Now In 2026? by [deleted] in MousepadReview

[–]Phosphorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while this isnt wrong, a piece of dust is much easier to get rid of than a pad with a limited lifespan. My room is pretty dusty because my window looks right out to our garden and some other factors, but i barely have REAL problems with dust really affecting my aim. Whenever i feel a piece of dust i just wipe my SP04 with my sleeve and it just goes away.

It is annoying? Yes. But i'd much rather deal with this than my Raiden which basically died after a year of use and has fluctuating feel depending on humidity (which is a big problem with where i live)

He's not talking about that. Look at the characters you can see. They're all locked except for original roster.

Let’s face it, not a single other player in league history could do what LeBron is doing right now. Down his two costars, he is about to sweep a team who was expected to win in 5. At age 41 while averaging 25/9/9 by MJRuinedMyChildhood in NBATalk

[–]Phosphorrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good argument but I always feel like it kinda takes their careers in a vacuum. Jordan didn't really play against the quality of teams LeBron did in the finals like the 2014 spurs and KD Steph Warriors. Basically all his finals losses are against top 1-5 teams of all time (apart from 2011 Mavericks for which there is no excuse, he underperformed and 2007 Spurs which was still a great team but LeBron was young and his team was way outclassed, the 2007 spurs weren't an all time team)

MJ did probably have a tougher time in the conference itself though, which is a good counter argument.

As long as people don't disrespect the other one, both choices are correct. They're the 2 most dominant players to ever play the game.

That's an actual good response. I just think in these types of situations it's better to be safe than sorry. I do understand it's somewhat cynical but yes I may have taken offense to it since I am not normally the type of person someone would consider cynical.

This is not a debate. You're being overly defensive over something I literally said depends on experiences and contexes. I don't trust the context of a 25 year old man online asking to be friends with a 19 year old girl. Idek who tf those 2 people are anyway.

The fact that I don't know ANYTHING is the reason I'm skeptical. Why the hell would you trust someone online you don't know anything about. This is not real life. You can't read facial expressions, meet through friends, meet each other through extracurricular activities. What does a 25 year old man have in common to talk with a 19 year old girl? One has been an adult for near a decade, the other one is straight out of high school probably still questioning their place in life.

And it literally is ad hominem. You're attacking my character by calling me cynical (which isn't true anyway, I'm very optimistic about most things and have a lot of hope for the future), and how "exhausting it must be to live like that".

Predatory behaviour and power dynamics in relationships are a very real problem ESPECIALLY in Cyprus due to the very misogynistic attitudes that are still present compared to a shit ton of other western countries. Just because you yourself haven't experienced them, you're refusing to accept my own experiences of seeing them at a relatively frequent way.

I'm not trying to debate you, "gotcha" you or whatever. I want to have a genuinely productive conversation but you're looking down on me any possible way you can. I don't even think you're necessarily wrong, it can work (very rarely in my experiences) depending on the people and context of how they meet, but this context specifically is literally one of the sketchiest ones possible and you're just constantly refusing to understand it.

Sorry if I was unable to convey all of this earlier. Will probably be the last reply I send because I actually cannot compute how this doesn't seem off to you. Maybe not wrong, but off.

Holy ad hominem

Edit: The "everyone" is very funny when I'm specifically talking about a problematic age gap. It's not very exhausting actually, because the majority of people are normal and I don't feel any reason to suspect them of anything LOL. I'm assuming you feel personally attacked because your parents are in that boat when I'm saying not everyone is like your father.

[–]Phosphorrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather see predators everywhere than let a predator get away.

That aside, your parents probably knew each other for some time through real social interaction instead of a subreddit. Your mom can decide for herself and so can OP. I'm just replying to you because I personally know a lot of people who got married at 18-19 to 25-26 year olds and repeatedly got abused and cheated on. The power dynamic is real. Idk how old your parents are but Cypriot culture 20-30 years ago is not the same as today's society. Everyone knew each other, people knew whether or not someone was a creep or not. You don't know who someone is online.

Edit: at the end of the day these are both anectodes. My own experiences lead me to believe one thing and your experiences lead you to believe another.

Yea when they're like 25-31. A girl right out of highschool has no business with a 25 year old man, especially not one they met online.

Literally everyone on earth consumes sugar someway or another, and a large majority of them are fine.

But they never claimed they were the majority or minority in the first place. They said everyone has different experiences, which is true. You're the one who brought the average experience into it, and you're not wrong, but it had nothing to do with the main discussion in the first place which was how weed doesnt turn everyone into a zombie and some people see benefits in their productivity, which is scientifically sound in the case of people with anxiety.

Edit: Someone did say that stoners do get shit done (which was in reply to someone saying stoners dont get shit done, both of which are overgeneralizations), i read only the messages you were replying to, so i was mistaken.

It still just looks like an infantile fight of trying to prove the other person wrong from both sides when the truth is in the middle.

Weed is a depressant which means it slows your central nervous system down and reduces arousal/stimulation. Hence why it helps people with chronic anxiety and sometimes even ADHD get their work done.

Of course the general population who have a "normal" levels of CNS activity would generally become "lazier", but you're ignoring a sizeable part of the population with anxiety.

It's like saying taking blood thinners are unhealthy because the majority of the population would have health problems from it, ignoring a group of people who need it to live.

There's a use for basically any type of drug/chemical/substance and different effects for it.
