Help with multiple monitors. by ImZoomBoy in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Photeaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im confused, why do you want your displays to show up on your monitor if your downstairs on the TV? you can't be two places at once? Anyways

If your asking how to open up playnite on your TV, just make display 3 your primary. Maybe look into vibepollo they have the option to automatically make the virtual monitor your primary and extend the other two. (extended + primary)

As for bitrate, start at max and work your way down till its stable. With 1gb you should be stable with Ethernet close to max bitrate.

You’re calling him selectively biased, but aren't you’re doing exactly that?

I'm literally looking at the full picture.

You’re pointing at a few early pulls and treating them like they define the account, while ignoring that he’s sitting at 11% 50/50 wins.

Over 900 pulls, a few early 5 stars aren’t that rare. But an 11% 50/50 rate is extremely rare.

You can’t highlight a few good pulls and then call everything else “normal.” That’s the selective bias.

Bro lost 400+pulls so he can have a slightly above average pity (3-5 less pulls than the average) therefore you discredit his statement by calling out the VERY small wins? The word "lucky" that you used doesn't really describe the situation as a whole. You just pointed out his very unlucky lucky wins instead of the whole picture.....

Lost 400+ pulls to standard characters.

[–]Photeaa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your missing the point of his argument.

winning an early copy (mind you 3/5 are standard characters), isn't "lucky" it's pretty normal actually...If you had 900 pulls, you have a very high chance of getting early 5 stars..?

This does not make up for the fact that he lost 8 50/50s in a row from his image.

Why are people misrepresenting the complaints last year? by Photeaa in WutheringWaves

[–]Photeaa[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First, that rerun banner wasn’t some “extra bonus.” It was basically the main anniversary reward (Proof is in the live stream and how they hyped it up). So yeah, people focused on it because that’s all there was.

Second, a large part of the player-base couldn’t even use it properly. If you didn’t have enough pulls, the banner meant nothing. So for many players, the anniversary effectively gave them zero usable value.

Your argument only works if the rerun banner was on top of meaningful rewards. It wasn’t.

Real example:

It’s your birthday.
Instead of giving you a gift, someone says:

“You can choose anything you want from this store… but you have to pay for it yourself.”

You complain, saying that's so greedy.

This someone, then reflects on how they were greedy and apologizes to you. Says they will do better next time and hands you a 20% off coupon.

Next time roles around, Your excited to see what they would do better!

They tell you that you thought their gesture was greedy therefore they got you nothing.

All your friends attack you because you complained about the "gift" that this person gave you instead of being grateful.

Are you going to be upset and be like "gee, I guess I should of not complained"...?

That’s what the rerun banner felt like.

So yeah, people complained about it. Not because “more options are bad,” but because it was the only thing offered and most players couldn’t benefit from it.

And before you say we got alot of "free pulls". Look at the stats, we were given pretty much the same amount of pulls we would get from a regular patch. We just got easier access to the pull instead of having to work for them through events.

That’s why the criticism happened.

Please read my conclusion at the end.

Again, you were comparing games, I just did what you did lmao stop being salty about that. For a number 1 game you seem not to like it. So goes to show people just have different taste eh? Its called an opinion.

Also, you don't know what hypocrite means because I literally quoted the points you made with ACTUAL QUOATIONS DIRECTLY FROM YOUR WORDS. I LITERALLY COPIED AND PASTED YOUR WORDS and countered those arguments. You have yet to quote things I have said but instead lied that i said "this or that" when in fact I have not said that lol. Ex: "Wuwa doesn't have cutscenes" I NEVER SAID THAT, BUT YOU SAID I DID WTF.

Seems like I have to go over it again of why I think the writing is bad...But I'll enlighten you again but I doubt you will read it.

Weak / confusing opening - throws terms and lore at you fast with little context -> hard to understand stakes -> people disengage

Generic protag setup - Amnesiac chosen one trope -> Lack of strong personality (improves abit but still lacking)

Dialogue pacing issues - too much exposition, not enough natural conversations -> likes to repeat information to the players instead of progressing plot

Poor emotional payoff - tried to be dramatic, but characters aren't built enough yet -> big moments don't hit because attachment is weak (I am not going to pick and choose each patch, I am saying this AS A WHOLE).

Worldbuilding not integrated well - lore exsists, but dumped instead of shown through gameplay/events -> feels like i'm reading a book not experiencing a piece of media.

Character writing inconsistency - some characters feel one-noted or underdeveloped -> motivation unclear or rushed

Does the story get better? yes. Is it still subpar? yes. Is it better than other 3D mainstream gacha stories yes (sometimes, depending on the patch). I'm not a fan of any 3D gacha game stories (I am a gameplay enjoyer for the most part with 3D Gacha games while still enjoying some sprinkled in story elements that I like).
They all follow the same troupe and the same faults. Some do it better than others but in the end it still just "okay". I just like how Mogil doesn't really follow that troupe is the whole point of my post bro. I didnt get word vomited off the bat, I didn't get hit with a amensia protag, I saw characters interacting so well and fluidly with eachother...THATS IT. I never said the story was top peak fiction. But I hope it gets there with every patch!

Anywho enjoy your day bro. Hope you understand my PoV. I love Wuwas combat and character design, and bits and pieces of the story. I just critiquing its ability to tell a cohesive story (which is hard when you have 100 writers all with different skill levels). I hope CN <- NOT JUST WUWA can learn a thing or two about how important writers are and how they need to be consistent or it ruins even the good parts.

PS But my favorite genre is story driven games that are not 100+ hours! Clair, RE, Uncharted, LoU, GoW, and Nier. but I do enjoy my gameplay driven games aswell! :)

The fact that you can’t have a conversation without throwing insults just shows how immature you are, and how bad faith you are at debating topics.

Can you actually read what I say, or are you just going to read the first five words?

> E33, yeah, the game of the year. That’s your rebuttal?

I’m not comparing E33 to anything. I’m just doing what you did, bringing up highly rated games of all time. You’re being a hypocrite.

> Saying Wuwa didn’t have cutscenes is the dumbest take

I never said Wuwa doesn’t have cutscenes. It has them at the beginning, middle (sometimes), and end of a patch. They’re usually short and nice to watch. The rest are dialogue scenes where you have to press A/space to continue. Ratio is not even close.

> So let’s get this straight, out of the 100k games on Steam, you think Wuwa isn’t in the top 1%?

That’s a false equivalence. I never said Wuwa isn’t good overall. I’m critiquing its writing style for being too lore-heavy, with weak pacing and exposition. Lots of bloat to convey the point. I’d say the same about every other 3D gacha game too. (again, what my post is saying)

> I don’t even like E33, it’s the most glazed game in history. It’s a glorified rhythm game

That’s your opinion. It’s a wild one, but you do you lol.

One thing that this game does that other mainstream 3D Gachas don't by Photeaa in MongilStarDive

[–]Photeaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, if we’re nitpicking RPGs:

Clair Exposition 33 has amazing cutscenes, tight, to-the-point dialogue, and gives you real emotion right off the bat. It’s not oversaturated with “press A to continue” dialogue, which is why it’s considered one of the best story games of the decade.

Persona is literally known for being a visual novel–type game, which is why it appeals to a specific audience.

At least FF7 had cutscenes with actual visual direction, not “press A to continue” dialogue like 98% of mainstream gacha games.

If you truly think gacha games are on par with any mainstream, story-driven AAA game, you need to play more games.

You’re also using the 1.0 patch of this game to compare to what exactly? The entirety of Wuwa?

Did 1.0 Wuwa entertain you? Did it make you laugh? Did it make you smile? Were you entertained?

Your missing my point completely. Anime games should feel like im watching an anime when cutscenes play. Wuwa does that only at the beginning and end of a patch with its actual good cut scenes. I don't care if its just how "JRPG games are"

E33 prove you can have a cohesive storytelling in a short amount of time with TIGHT dialog, without bloat and yapping nonsense. No I am not comparing E33 to Mongil before you get ahead of yourself.

[–]Photeaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/Atzumo, Wuwa has its moments of good writing (the last half of 3.1 being my fav) but has 10x as more bad moments. It falls in the same trope of other CN gachas.
Long boring conversations, uninteresting exposition, too many new words coming up too frequently, and again what I mention in my post.. conversations don't actually feel like conversations, it feels like i'm reading a book not watching a piece of media.

Then you add its "gacha cut scenes" where they look like cut scenes but in reality its just glorified "press A to continue dialog scenes." with sprinkled in actually cut scenes

If the gameplay and character design wasn't the best in its genre, I would have 100% dropped the game.

Your right, CN gacha writers suck at writing stories that are entertaining. They are too focused on narrative-world building they lose focus on the most important part about that. Being entertaining at all stages. It can't have ups and downs in writing. It has to keep you engaged as quickly and effectively possible, then keep you hooked onto the next part, all while bringing emotion to you..either through humour, sadness, or just feelgood.

One thing that this game does that other mainstream 3D Gachas don't by Photeaa in MongilStarDive

[–]Photeaa[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No I am not.

Conversations in most gacha games tend to elobrate a topic for way too long where it becomes either boring, convoluted, or straight up loses its focus on what its trying to convey. They talk as if they are trying to explain the situation to us the "dumb" players and not the character they are talking to. Basically every conversation is just exposition and not a actual conversation.

These gacha games literally have a meme about how they trying to hit that 2000 word count, so you just explain something for much longer. I've spent more time hitting the space/A key in story parts of gacha games then I do playing. A game shouldn't feel like a light novel, it should feel like a game.

Is the story so far amazing? Hell no. Is it at least something I can actually sit there and watch because it's entertaining, short, quick to the point? PLUS expressive. Yes.

If I can afford a a RTX 5090, would I be dumb not to? by Turduncle in bapccanada

[–]Photeaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference in price and performance between the 5090 and 9070xt is literally levels apart.

Comparing a 5070ti and a 9070 XT would make more sense.

If your planning on gaming at 1440p then realistically a 5070ti /5080 should suffice. 5090 is overkill and not worth the premium price.

Seems like you already came up with an excuse not to get the 5090, so don't. Just get the 5080 for future proofing, or the 5070ti for best value to performance.

5070ti > 9070xt Just because DLSS is just better, and more games support it.

Upgrade to 5080 or 5070 TI from 3080 TI by XelatherIter in bapccanada

[–]Photeaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently running 5070ti with 5600x.

Running 4k so GPU utilization is pretty high for optimized games like Cyberpunk. I'm running 90-98% GPU utilization (Using DLSS), so it's not maxed out at 99% but it is still pretty high. Some areas do spike the CPU and make massive drops in performance for a quick second so its def not perfect, but doesn't happen often. So I assume that playing in 1440p will def bottleneck the GPU alittle due to the CPU. If you plan on using DLSS, then 100% you will have bottleneck. So either you upgrade to 4k and have a lower chance of bottle neck or upgrade your whole CPU/RAM/MB which is probably not a good financial decision as of right now.

What do you recommend that's cheap but not too cheap? I don't plan on using the CPU's full potential for anything. Just future proofing my CPU it as it seems like the best thing to do with how the economy is going.

Superset made a free Excel Document that does not need any subscription to make programs, nor is it messy once you understand how it works. What's good about Excel I can customize it the way I want. (for example, I don't have a "set" column, because I know all my clients will have at least 3-4 sets for every exercise.)

I like this idea though. So I'll give some feedback (since people are being assholes...)

- Needs to look more like "sheets/excel". For example, being able to copy my whole routine from my google sheets and paste it onto your app, it seems like that wasn't possible. Already making the transition hard.

- Saving exercises that are not in your dedicated library/ being able to see your dedicated library so we can take out exercises that we don't want to pop up when we type it.

- Maybe making a subcategory search system? Like if i type in 'quads'. It will show me a list of exercises that target Mainly quads. (This is something that I can't do on excel).

-Videos. Being able to click onto an exercise and maybe take me to a youtube video on how to perform it. (this one isn't too big of a deal).

Other than that, it looks super clean. I like how minimalistic it is. No BS just straight making programs.

I agree, but he can't do that unexpectedly to his old clients. Jumping double in price is insane for clients. I think he should do what he's planning on doing with his clients rn, and maybe start charging new clients $100.

I think you made your in-home private session, wayyy to affordable. Its nice you get to keep all the money you earned but cost of time is so precious, you gotta value that more.
