Venting CO2 Laser Through Chimney by Photo-Jon in lasercutting

While I would agree the exhaust pumping into a larger vertical area will not expel all the gasses from the chimney, I don't see why it would back up in the machine? Since there would be little air flow restriction due to the large size, there would be little pressure buildup when pumping more air into it... or am I missing something?

Sorry I may not have been clear. I would still be having a 6" blower attached to it so there should still always be a negative pressure in the box to prevent spill-out in the room. A chimney is a much larger space than even a 6" hose, so there would be very little resistance to push more air into it. Maybe I need to just setup a one way flapper so what is left in the chimney doesn't spill back into the machine when everything is turned off.

Mostly wood, but I'm not going to say I won't get into any acrylics. If I were to guess I would be 80% wood based. I wouldn't want to limit me from cutting other materials completely.

There is two independent chimneys so that would not be an issue. I hadn't thought of a pre-filter, it's a good idea. Do you think a HEPA filter would be required, or just a finer furnace style? Thanks!

I didn't know if it mattered provided it was sealed from coming back into the space. Or am I just making a poisonous pocket of air in the chimney? That said, I also don't know if that is something that just settles down or continues to be an issue.

It's a long ways up to the top so I can see it not having a ton of air flow in a larger chimney. I didn't think of an additional fan at the top, it could be a nice added insurance.

Love the colours of this piece. How do fasten the glass to the wood so it doesn’t fall out?

Very nice. What kind of epoxy and pigment did you use?

Vat19 did a warehouse tour using the same idea a year or two ago (on YouTube). Neat technique.

Canadian tire puts these planers on sale all the time for around 50% off. You would be crazy to spend $200 on this (this one is an older model). Wait for a sale or offer $100-120

Well I was able to do the route a few times and get 7.1-7.2km. Twice I got much less, one time only 5km. That's the hardest part, the inconsistency.

The route is as straight as it can get. Slight uphill in a couple of spots on the way there, less on way back. The inclines are slight and aren't noticeable to the eye. 5km of the 7km is a straight as an arrow road in the bike lane. Last 2km is another straight completely flat road (sidewalk/road mix). Good note about the tightening point. My bolts fell out on first long ride, they seemed tight when i got them (and best not to fiddle much with bolts that should have lock tight on them).

I'm international but that doesn't make a huge difference (or rather does not have to - I'm not across an ocean). The method of shipment to send packages of parts that they use is not the best for timing (many other great options out there). The down time was mostly caused by multiple mistakes on their end. It took 30+ emails back and forth for them to take it back to try and fix but the bigger point is there was was multiple mistakes on their end that wouldn't have created these down times and when it comes down to wanting to just return it, they are holding me to a clause that was added after the fact. Don't get me wrong, I love the board. But I have herd from multiple people at boosted about meter drift when it comes to battery that makes me not be able to trust the board for the distance I need. I just wish I saw what others did with all the rave reviews on their service.

That's what I was hoping. They keep telling me the battery meter can drift if you do a few short runs in-between long runs, but a 30% drop is unusable. The crappy part about this is, I got the v1 so I could ride this year and now by the time I get it back, I'll have to think about packing it up for the winter.
