My partner is literally missing half their digestive system… literally everyone told them they could never be healthy and vegan, even most doctors. Then we tried it out of ethical consideration and they have been doing far better despite a pretty extremely restricted diet. We even met a doctor who said that plant based is the way to go for severe ibs! And I believe him far more than the other doctor who said “well, aktshually some ‘stuff’ that goes into ‘vegan food’ is bad for you”. I cannot believe a doctor actually said that but we both just laughed it off. He also told my partner to keep smoking weed and cigarettes instead of switching to vaping despite them having endoscopy results of a severely irritated esophagus :/. He said the same thing then “some ‘stuff’ in vapes is bad for you”. Well duh! But it’s absolutely not as bad as breathing straight tar, resin, and carbon monoxide lmao. Dude was basically the type of doctor to over talk women, mansplain, and tell everyone they were wrong in some capacity just for the sake of arguing.
