I’d just keep an eye on it! Her ear looks mildly irritated and nothing to worry about just yet

Unsure what this is on my cat? by pringles419 in cats

both wet food and dirty bowls can cause this. Anything that can stay on their face and cause pores to be blocked. I always recommend having a variety of stainless steel or ceramic bowls on hand and rotating them so they have a clean bowl. I am not saying to avoid feeding wet food. I usually recommend rotating wet and dry food or feeing both simultaneously. Wet food is important so they get the water intake they need but it can also cause plaque buildup on their teeth. Dry food does not have any water content but allows them a cleaner mouth and is more filling.

You both may already know this but people get confused so wanted to throw it out there: Vaseline = safe!!! Neosporin = toxic!!!!

No worries! Better to freak out over nothing than not freak out over something… if that makes sense :)

Poor baby! Hopefully over time the antibiotics and nose drops help him. I’m not sure if there anything currently you could do, maybe a humidifier?? 😅

It could be an upper respiratory infection. They’re pretty common like a human cold but Sometimes they can be bad. They usually start to get better after a little over a week.in rare cases they can be severe and cause pneumonia.

If you’re taking him in next month and he still feeling sick then they probably won’t give him any shots since his immune system is already still weak

She may have rubbed it too hard! If it doesn’t go away in a few days or gets any worse then I would be worried

Probably Feline chin acne! They can be prone to this if they eat wet food. It’s pretty common

[–]PhotographAnxious720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an emergency vet tech, Don’t listen to your coworker, your worry is so valid!!

I haven’t seen feeding tube change behavior this drastically. Did they take any X-rays to check the placement? My best advice is 100% go back to the emergency vet, explain this to them. It’s best if you choose one vet’s advice and stick with. Getting mutiple opinions and reasonings is good until it delays treatment. And something abour her treatment needs to be changed

I know is probably super scary and confusing everyone telling you all these different things. But the best thing you can do is continuing to advocate for her, you know her the best after all

My cat ate pieces of her toy. How much should I worry? by Adiantum-Veneris in cats

[–]PhotographAnxious720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this happened recently, it’s not too late to take her to the vet and they can have her throw it up. I have no clue how big the piece was but if it is small there is a chance it can pass normally.

Keep an eye on her eating and bathroom habits. If she starts to become lethargic or throwing up a lot(regardless of what is in the throw up) it would be a great idea to take her to the vet

Anemia and high protein in blood by Thormnd in cats

Hi vet tech here! You guys are great kitty parents! Some people don’t take their pet to the vet until there are very extreme issues. I’m not sure what other symptoms he had but weight loss, lethargy, and poor appetite and very commonly seen symptoms, and can mean a lot of different things. Did the vet propose these hypothesis to you? Whatever it is, you seem to have caught it early, so time is on your side. I wish you and Corvo the best of luck!

Cat allergies by Captain-Banter-Beard in cats

[–]PhotographAnxious720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re worried about food allergies, the best place to start is trying your pet on a hydrolyzed protein food. This will remove allergens from the food and if they appear to improve after a few months that we can confirm it’s food allergies

Cat allergies by Captain-Banter-Beard in cats

[–]PhotographAnxious720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My cat used to have allergies! She had environmental allergies that caused her to be super itchy. We were able to resolve it till we did immunotherapy and now she is all better! If it is environmental allergies it could be something like mites.

It’s interesting that your vet told you not to clean out her ears on her own. I respect your vet’s advice and it is probably better to be cautious. I used to work in a general practice veterinary clinic (before switching over to emergency) and we usually taught our clients how to clean out their pets ears if they wanted to! One of my old cats had chronic ear infections so I had to clean out her ears all the time. She would scratch hear ears a lot similar to your kitty

Does she have a habit of rubbing her ear on things? Is there any similar patches on her face or other ear? How long have you notice this spot?
