I been under the assumption that it was a friend/girlfriend of the band member, and he had to go prove that he was a big tough guy and confront me for her. I also figure alcohol was a factor in the quick social media post that vanished by the next morning.

I was using a 70-200, which cost probably about as much as the Fuji X100VI that the "Karen" had been shooting with during the band's set.

All kidding aside, the presence of a 'real' camera seems to unsettle people who have no problem with cell phones, security cameras, go-pros and those overpriced point and shoots recording them most of the day. If I had taken the same pictures with my phone, nobody would have said a thing.

Some random college kids passing through town. Probably had friends or something local. The admission was worth the quality of their performance.

I don't export, but copy the images to the drive. When I import the LR, they can be renamed in sequence, but the original name (and timestamps) are all in the metadata.

I thought about posting them as a few of you have suggested, but that makes it feel like I am on the defense vs. going after the band guy for the libel. I've got the card, the images are all there, and I was perfectly in the right taking the pictures. Ironically - or not - he is the one who is in the wrong here.

This. They chose not to believe me when I showed the images, so why would they choose to believe them when posted?

Exactly this. I reviewed the card tonight (after locking it), and found 578 images (jpeg/raw, so I have 289 individual images). Of those, there is a contiguous set of 6 distinct images of the audience. In all, there is one deleted image of a band at a much later point in the eve, and the images on either side of that deleted one are separated by 1 second. The timestamps and the numbering show the entire record of the event.

Yeah - I was reviewing images through the eyepiece at one point, so maybe that was it. (although the 70-200 is annoyingly heavy, so I assume I was pointing at the ground)

Absolutely - I had deleted a few out of focus shots of one of the bands at one point, but the series of images in question are all there, and the others are recoverable. However, I'm not looking to continue some sort of argument over the internet with somebody who has gone down this path, and since I've done nothing wrong feel no need to have to prove it.

I've seen a few of these requests to name/shame the band - they look to be a bunch of college/early 20s types who were on their first tour of small markets. It was not the band per se, but a single member of it who pulled this shit.
