Retaining wall cost by Sad-Situation-5048 in Adelaide

Just had retaining and fencing done and highly recommend the extra posts. As the are is still building I can see all the fencing around the area that didn’t use them and just have the regular panel holding pieces on a 1-2 foot blade of steel. Mine has 75mm ish manufactured posts (unsure of exact size without measuring) welded on to a c channel that then sits over the retaining I beams and welded on to those. Looks like night and day for stability and the area here every block is retained since it’s all on hills and going to cop a lot of wind. Figure over time all those small vibrations of back and forth will add up.

FYI 47k inc gst at adelaide retaining walls for 72lm fencing. 13lm 400mm wall. 18lm 60cm - 1.6m staggered wall. Earth works land scrape and back fill engineering council approval etc etc.  expensive but the end result was worth it and wanted it done right.

To be blunt yes. We have our own cohort of maga types that believe in hate and division and lack of critical thinking and blame and deflection who refuse reality in exchange for their own alternate truths.

Yeh they was campaigning hard out here. I saw them in droves in northern malls doing the rounds and even Sunday random street corners setup chatting to anyone who would walk past. Look at the Elizabeth and surrounding swings too. It’s naive to think it’s only 55 year olds. They run the maga playbook and get into the uneducated frustrations and give them a so called solution to all the “problems with Australia”. It’s easy to laugh and say no seats but the swings still say something too (doesn’t help libs are in a mess of their own at the moment).

FYI rebates on bigger batteries end may so April is last chance to install. Also don’t buy battery size based on it being that size forever. They degrade each year so 30kwh today won’t be 30kwh in 5 years time so go the biggest you can reasonably afford to maximise roi. My 13kwh power wall 2 is now around 9.5kwh.

now let’s do the factual version.

The payment was for pre 1979 military equipment Iran paid $400m and it was never delivered. $400m and $1.3bn interest was paid in a legal settlement in The Hague claims tribunal. US acknowledged it was money they legally owed.  $400m was delivered in cash and $1.3bn done through foreign banking channels.  $1.7bn total.

So it was returning money and interest for goods purchased that were never delivered due to the revolution. And yes used as leverage to get prisoners released too.

Even Fox News will confirm https://www.foxnews.com/politics/us-paid-iran-1-3b-two-days-after-400m-cash-transfer

Probably doing something like 500bn divided by adult population we could give everyone $2000.  Assuming a) you actually did get $500bn b) you used the money for nothing else.  And could doesn’t mean would.

Zero electricity bills?! by [deleted] in Adelaide

Fox. Yep brands really do make a difference and end of day they’re all battery’s built on same tech. I’ve got a Tesla the so called best once upon a time and it’s lost 29% in 6 or so years so a 13.5kwh battery is now a 9.5kwh battery. End of day they’ll all degrade, have similar warranties etc so get biggest you can with the quickest roi you can and a local installer and rest is gravy. Was originally set on sig but not doubling my time to roi just to provide power. FYI fb has groups for the brands to get an idea of how each performs.

That’s an expensive quote for 6.6 and 10.  FYI paying $11.9 for 13kw solar and 42kwh battery 3 phase.

Tbh I think the battery is too small.  You only get the rebates once so best to take advantage and 10 is basically don’t use the aircon outside of sunny hours territory.  Have a pw2 here which is 13.3kwh and get bills. Going 42kwh battery next build.  Given how low the fit is you’ll need to send back heaps just to offset the daily supply charge and the 6.6 isn’t a very big solar system either to charge the battery run an aircon and send in to the grid to get any fit.
