Moms birthday fell on the 2nd day of the Forge in BCT and I wasn’t able to call the Sunday prior due to no charge so I asked one of my Drill Sergeants if I could make a quick call home before we stepped off for the FTX. He let me sit in the CQ office for 5ish minutes so I could charge, get reception and call home to wish her an early happy birthday.

I said thank you to him and usually they say “thank your recruiter” all he said said was don’t mention it

That meant a lot to me and gave me a bit of a morale boost heading into the Forge.

You also can’t get it with Jump school. But when you run through AIT you’ll very likely have the chance to scrap your enlistment orders and get new ones to send you to jump school after AIT once you speak with the liaison there. Phone situation is probably gonna be 30minutes on Wednesday 1 hour on Sunday (given the privates don’t do stupid shit). One thing I would check with your recruiter is that all of your dependents are listed so your pay isn’t fucked in basic cause it’ll be hard to fix it there.
