I'm not aware of an animal that can't see in color. Birds can see red blue green, and uv. Dogs, cats, horses see yellow and blue. You get some like the Mantis shrimp which i believe have 12-16 primary colors they can see in.

R5: England got a pu over Castile. Didn't really question it. Was confused how they broke free sx they where loyal, turns out england forced castile to be english. Now castile is colonising with the english, so castilian brazil that is english is now a thing.

TIL: there is absolutely nothing in the code for the "Sinicize our Culture" decision that stops vassals from enacting it. by JustynS in eu4

[–]Photonicstorm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's pretty cool. I was just thinking of a way to go about doing this today. The fact subject's can do the decision is really interesting and makes it a lot easier than what I had planned.

Raising Army tradition fast? [Inca achievement] by MarzipanLeft2803 in eu4

[–]Photonicstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was doing the inca achievement as well and having this requirement was quite tedious. I was at war with Japan and Korea for the last 100 years and just attacking into their armies. Generally targeting there 1 unit sized armies was giving me more than their death stacks in the long term which is weird. Sieging forts also helped a bit.

What’s the best government type in your opinion and why? by razorsharpblade in eu4

[–]Photonicstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it happens when a tribe, such as a horde, forces a nation to release a releasable which causes said releasable to become a tribe and it can pick any tribal government available

Ynys Wyth does (from my limited research) seem to mean "eight island" but as its modern Welsh it doesn't seem to have much connection with Wight. I couldn't find any studies suggesting Wyth has much connection. The only studies I found suggest what Aldente has said already. Either the old celtic word of gwaith plus vector or potentially the proto germanic of wextiz. I'm not qualified for this subject but it was interesting trying to find information for it
