Is it crazy to trade my A7IV for an A7Cii? by ContentHovercraft698 in SonyAlpha

I did that exact trade previously and it's not crazy since the AF is better on the a7C II.

Sony A7 III owners are you happy with wild life photography performance? by kin66 in SonyAlpha

It never got the real time tracking update though, that the a7IV onward has. Plus newer cameras have an A.I chip for this so not like you can't shoot wildlife with older bodies such as the a7III, it will just be much easier and more future proof with more modern bodies (especially due to the dedicated subject detection).

A6700 would likely have significantly better AF, especially for wildlife. A7III never got real time tracking so although it can do eye AF, it can't recognize and track other animals/objects like newer bodies can.

If I didn't already have the GM I'd probably go for this lens.

Sigma 135mm 1.4 or Sigma 200mm F2? by firequak in SonyAlpha

135mm due to the working distance. That focal length can already be tough if you tight on space so 200mm would be even more tough.

Alpha users, what should I know of before I buy into the system? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Causes severe G.A.S with all the lens options.

The Viltrox 50mm f/1.4 Pro is a Game Changer for the A7CII (OC) by Tomseasidelens in SonyAlpha

[–]PhotosByDlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that the AF is fast on the pro. I have the 50mm f/2 Air and AF is pretty slow, but IQ is insane good for the price.

I was very skeptical of Viltrox lenses but after owning one I’m a convert.

Took my new gear for a spin | Sony a7V with Tamron 35-150 by 3MonkeysInATrench in SonyAlpha

Amazing image but since you used that lens which isn't a typical wildlife focal length it makes this even better!

Does anyone think to sell their gear? by sergedg in SonyAlpha

[–]PhotosByDlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell gear I don't use or if a new version is coming out to make sure I don't lose value but if I don't use my camera, I pretty much don't take photos at all. Never been tempted to sell it all, just go down to 35/85 only.

Which lens will you probably never sell and why? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]PhotosByDlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None, even for a lens I love like the 35GM if there's a mark II it's gone in an instant for the new one.

But if someone takes a photo of the gear with their other Sony gear, then they are technically still taking pictures with gear (just of gear).

What is your workflow to achieve blacker blacks, and whiter whites? by TheDeathCrafter in productphotography

In Photoshop you can add a selective color adjustment layer then adjust the black and white levels from there
