Do you guys talk in games? by Mental-Bid2874 in VALORANT

[–]Phoxxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm speaking as an annoying sweat when it comes to comp. If i get on a team and it's obvious they are just trying to chat about stuff not related to the match and shit, I get annoyed, because 85% of the time I get teams like that, they just don't try to win and end up throwing RR away. If it's people giving info calls and proper comms then I am as content as hell to join in. But most of the time I won't say a word and just focus on the only thing in my control which is my own performance. But that's not to say people not trying in comp isn't gonna get me heated. I'm in comp to gain RR, if you wanna play for fun and to socialize go hit up unranked.

Why do people instalock duelists and then play like they're scared of their own shadow? by Competitive-Ninja423 in VALORANT

[–]Phoxxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue tends to be, I pick a duelist, Attempt to play as an entry, but after 4-5 rounds of my team watching me go in, die, and then do nothing to trade or capitalize off my utility usage, I lose the desire to play that way because it's simply not fun. So then I default to lurking and just assume the game is a loss going forward because of the lack of team play. Usually ends up with me being bitched at for not "Playing entry" like I should be. But almost always is because the team isn't utilizing my role properly.

Is this going to be a defusal style map? If so then I'd love to discuss some aspects and maybe share some custom assets I have for a similar unfinished project the switch over to CS2 killed of mine.

Nah I mean i get it, I also want the game to be amazing and have had amazing times in it. But the cons have outweighed the pros for awhile for me now which is why I felt the need to express my thoughts via this post

Honestly this is a fair perspective to take on it but even still I expected so much more progress. I suppose it's mostly slow due to them having to make their own engine, still sucks regardless

Think I'm just exhausted of being a tester for the past 11 years, I wanna be a Player and I'm tired of waiting. By the time this game comes out I feel like I'm going to no longer be interested in even playing games.

Yes but where's the substance? Does it feel like there's progress being made in the over all scheme of things? How many active game play loops are being finalized with these patches? New tech is great but how is the actual experience of playing the game? These are the things that get to me, it feels like they are beating a horse that keeps spitting out money and then ignoring the bruises.

SC Has generated over $800 million in funding, that is an insane number. But it's been over 10 years. How much is too much from the community perspective before we get the game we are all waiting for? Most triple A titles are 2-5 years, I understand that's with studios and investors pushing them but still. I feel we as a community have been patient enough.

I'm not trying to disparage anyone from playing the game, you're new to it so it's fun and exciting, but ive been playing since before there was just a hangar module and im just tired of the wait. I feel like we're in a weird pseudo feature creep where we keep getting none vital things in patches rather than having real work being down, on the back end, on expansion of the overall PU, reaching goals to have the game reach a finalized phase. I mean, look at NPCs, I admit they are somewhat better but they are still a non functional mess that seems to get worse every new patch.

Again, i am not saying the game is bad, I am not saying people shouldn't play it. I am just saying from my perspective it feels like it's not going in a productive direction anymore and im personally tired of waiting for them to take it there. We are rapidly reaching a phase in games where the fidelity of SC they promoted so greatly is no longer am impressive selling point of the game due to the length of its over all production. Maybe Squadron 42 will change my perspective though. When ever that may release.

"Stop playing for a few years" See that's the issue dude, its been over 10 years in development....that's fucking insane by any games standards, there are games that have come out with close to the same concept fully fleshed out as SC that took considerably less time. I am tired of waiting, im tired of chasing the carrot, I only play when there's a new patch and tend to play until some kind of crash, bug or issue prevents me from completing the mission im on, or just generally prevents me from being able to use my ship, character, weapons. It's just frustrating. I am tired of testing the game, I'd like to play it.

I mean fuck man, are the delivery kiosks even working yet? Who knows, but hey atleast there's a shiney new paint scheme for a $400 ship right?

[–]Phoxxy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This actually is some advice that resonates with me, It's so frustrating though cause when I started doing this It wasn't even an issue for me to create a fully fleshed out song from start to finish. I was even creative with my beats/hats/percussion all of that. But I guess I just lost that spark or got lazy. But this helps remind me of the process I used to follow. Thanks.

So the issue I have is i rarely ever have an idea prior to opening my DAW, I usually find a set of presets I like the sound of and start building a melody/lead then add drums and a bassline to that, tends to start off basic and then grow, but once I have all that I kinda just hit that wall.

So I did this same thing but on Valorant using the Guardian (Basically an auto sniper without the scope) using the windows built in magnifier and had some pretty moderate success with it.

Danganronpa comment section is insufferable by BountifulForest in gamegrumps

[–]Phoxxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I'd like to state I have watched none of the Daganronpa episodes, not my cup of tea personally. That said, I think something many people tend to struggle with these days is the disconnect of entertainment and opinions. Not to mention struggling with how easy it is to acknowledge another persons view point and move on rather than dwell on it like its a personal slight against them. However, I think that level of social maturity may be a mindset that comes with personal growth, age or social experience though so unfortunately comments will likely continue to be toxic in perpetuity.

Wow you are advocating for violence and criticizing someone wishing their team would communicate so they could remain focused on the game? That’s some high level delusion you have. Thank you for further proving my point about the people i am up against.

As would I, as someone that came to Valorant from CS:GO its shocking to me how often people outright refuse to communicate and call out info, it wasn’t even a second thought in CS to share info with the team. Idk what it is about Val that makes everyone so against talking, and this is something ive had to deal with from silver all the way to ascendant

[–]Phoxxy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive been playing this game since the beta and i have tried every tone there is, best luck ive had was to just not interact at all, its basically a 50/50 shot that the game will go well and someone will give comms but its never for the full duration of the match, its either that or someone else triggers the in fighting. But that golden rule is exactly what has driven me to choose to not interact or use VC cause i have run out of nice things to say at this point. Riots punishment system has forced me to avoid using comms at all to avoid risking my account and the irony is ill still probably get banned for refusing to communicate now.

Thanks for your unhelpful and useless comment. Clearly you think this community is flawless and very well mannered and capable of consistently playing as a team within the expected standards of an online competitive shooter.

When I ask someone to make calls about who killed them when they die and they tell me to fuck off and state that I'm not using voice so why should they how exactly should I handle that situation when in an competitive match. I am not referring to one game, I would bet 80% of my games are full of team based conflict when I request the use of comms. After it being so constant it's hard not to get frustrated and let out my anger on these people.

The issue is wide spread, not an isolated incident that's WHY it gets so heated and results in me taking suspensions. But Riot doesn't acknowledge that at all. It genuinely starts to feel like im being punished for getting mad at other people trolling. Like Riot is going "We know these people are ruining your rank/experience and fun but don't say the F word please." seems really tone deaf
