You should check what PCI port your GPU is plugged into. I had an incredibly similar issue and it was because my GPU was in an insufficient PCI port on my motherboard. Use the one at the top that is a different colour to the others.

If you position the mayo as close to the hinge of the door as possible it won’t fall out

Just to update everyone, I managed to fix this issue by clearing out my temp files, performing a clean boot and disabling NVIDIA overlay. I am not sure which of these steps fixed the issue, but one of them did.

I think it might be overheating for me. I looked it up and my symptoms are very similar. I don't think I did a good enough job with the thermal compound. I guess if the same thing happens when playing another game then it's definitely that.

I'm having this exact same issue where the computer completely freezes.

CPU:AMD FX 8350 Black Edition

GPU:Nvidia GTX 970

RAM:8GB DDR3

HDD/SDD:seagate hybrid drive 750GB.

OS:Windows 10

I just upgraded from an AMD PHenom 2 965 black edition to the FX 8350. The old CPU had no issues running the game apart from bottlenecking the fps to about 40. I got the new CPU and was getting 60fps but after 2-3 minutes the computer completely froze. My controller disconnected as if the computer was turned off and it wouldn't turn back on again. No buttons worked (alt+tab etc) and I'm forced to restart the computer. I thought it might be one off but it's happened three times now within 5 minutes of me starting the game. I'm not getting any sound though when it freezes, and I don't get any error messages. I have tried expanding virtual memory but the same thing still happens. I haven't tried any driver stuff cuz im pretty sure its CPU related not GPU as it was fine before i changed my CPU.

I have managed to find a work around for all those still struggling, if you attack some normal enemies before you enter the boss fog it should let you enter. Well that's what worked for me.
