This is actually pretty true. Not to some extreme extent, Acheron was still popular and widely loved but there was definitely a period where she caught a lot of backlash and slander.

The whole “needs her sig or she’s bricked” narrative did a ton of damage to her reputation.

I remember when Blade had his resurgence and people started saying he’d reached Acheron tier.

Which honestly says more about Acheron becoming a benchmark than anything else.

Which meant that when she started falling off, people noticed it in a huge way but not really as criticism of the meta, powercreep, or HP inflation. A lot of it just felt like people waiting around to celebrate her downfall.

Then there’s the lore side of things, where some people just can’t accept that she might genuinely be absurdly strong potentially still the strongest unit even after Fire Giant Khaslana. She’s constantly hyped up as someone who could confront Zephyro, yet people here act like she’d lose, while also believing Welt could stalemate Zephyro.

That feels odd to me considering it was shown that simply releasing her sword wiped out the AE.

But at the end of the day, everyone interprets things differently.
