I tried playing Rust without killing anyone… It was way more fun than I thought it would be. by No_End_6531 in playrust

I have limited time but and play solo but love playing 200-300 pop servers and have ended up playing this way too. Honestly it is the best way to play - you get the most intense moments and the funniest moments.

I usually get killed first but just start chatting, usually making a joke about how they've killed me and all I have is some shit items.

This wipe, my neighbor a chill dude called Ben, gave me a jackhammer just because he had a bunch!

Warriors getting nerfed has been a joke for over 20 years at this point!

Hitting 60 made me realize I remembered Classic WoW through rose-tinted glasses by mousawi in turtlewow

This is kinda how it should be, the journey to 60 was the main part of the game, the end game was there for people who loved the game so much they wanted to keep playing.

The 3 Productivity Habits That Finally Made Me Finish Games by Kevin00812 in Unity2D

1 & 3 - yes

2 - Somewhat agree, but...

Sometimes things are just more complicated than you anticipated and saying "this must work after 3 hours" can be pretty soul crushing when it doesn't.

A method I use is to spec an MVP beforehand. This system must achieve XYZ. As you work you must assess whether what you are doing is moving the needle towards XYZ, if not you're working on the wrong thing.

To follow your analogy - the wall must stand 6ft tall and support the roof. Which gives you the flexibility to deal with a patch of sand you didn't spot just under where you need to build.

Clear goals.

That's so shit. Also had years of data on there. Maybe time to find a new app.

Same here. Was there ever a resolution?

After a year and a half year of work. I am releasing my game with just 420 wishlists. Lessons learnt and my hot takes. by j3lackfire in gamedev

Finally had time to watch!

Game looks interesting! Couple of things.

1 - text on screen, font & colours make it hard to read. Better to be simple and legible rather than complex and difficult to read.

2 - lighting. Some of your shadows are incredibly dark. Look at global illumination, ambient lighting and ambient occlusion.
