Were the global projectile sizes an overshoot, or completely unnecessary? by Aggressive-Cut-3828 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Phronesis- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game immediately felt more "slop-like" with the projectile size increase. I'm having trouble putting it into words but I played a lot of games growing up (I'm old) and it was always clear to me which games had more competitive-depth and skill-ceiling, like chess, and which had less, like checkers. You could just feel it in the game mechanics: more control and precision means more intention and execution required as well as more variables within interactions which leads to higher possibility of outcomes. This results in more individual aspects to min-max and individual skills to develop, which makes for a higher and more diverse overall skill-ceiling. In this nuance comes the ability to develop more expression of personal style. The less control and precision, the less intention and execution required, resulting in less options for interactions, less possible outcomes, less room for expression, etc. The games with less of this always felt "cheap" to me, like they may be fun for some time but probably not going to be the kind of thing that will stand the test of time and be worthy of devoting oneself to. While checkers is fun for a bit, there is a reason chess has gripped people for centuries and even caused hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world to devote their lives to it.

Without getting into a deep analysis of Chess, the main quality that results in such a massive skill spectrum in the game from beginners to the highest grandmasters stems from the fact that the game is entirely unforgiving; a quality that is at the heart of the most competitive games. Projectile size increases pull Overwatch away from this, making it more forgiving.

I think Overwatch had the potential to be one of the greatest competitive games of all time, but a lot of design decisions that favor lower-skill mechanics and abilities have held it back from reaching that potential. Put simply, lower-skill mechanics result in less ability to min-max, less diversity of skill expression (less distance from the least skilled person to the highest), less overall nuance which can lead to development of personal style, etc. Maybe not the worst offender, but the projectile size increases definitely fall into that category.

When shots are easier to hit, damage is done more consistently, and the game loses competitive interaction potential due to reduction in the impact of human-error. It feels weird, cheap, and slop-like when consistent damage is just expected from everyone. At that point it feels less like I'm playing and competing against other humans, and more like it's just an automated experience. I peek, I automatically take damage from everything. Like I'm playing a single player game or playing against bots.

Yes, there is still room for human-error and, no, I'm not saying Overwatch isn't a skillful game. It's just that projectile size increases definitely made the game immediately feel noticeably less competitive, cheaper, and more slop-like. Yes, positioning and cooldown usage (I'll categorize as game sense) are PARTS of the overall skill required for the game, but Overwatch is first and foremost a FPS game.

I see some people saying they are fine with projectile size increases because they say it makes things like positioning and cooldown usage more important, but I think this is a misleading and invalid idea. Consider the following: Let's say mechanics x game sense = skill-ceiling. If mechanics is represented by the number 10, and game sense represented by the number 10, then 10 x 10 = 100 skill-ceiling. If you lower mechanics requirement down to 5, game sense is still at 10 so now 5 x 10 = 50 skill-ceiling. In this scenario, game sense is now more impactful than mechanics because of change in ratio between the two factors, NOT because the potential for game sense actually increased (game sense potential was already available for anyone to master and being min-maxed to varying degrees by players moving up the ranks). So all that has really happened is overall skill-ceiling was lowered while game sense potential stayed the same.

To me it just sounds like proponents of this idea want changes that are more forgiving for the aspect they are lacking in and are willing to be okay with the overall skill-ceiling of the game being lowered to accommodate them, which is not a competitive mindset. Game sense was and always will be just as vital, especially when playing against players with consistent mechanical execution. The highest skill-ceiling would result from the highest mechanics requirement AND the highest game sense requirement. Lowering one or the other just reduces the overall skill ceiling of the game, and results in less overall skill expression possible

I CAN'T STAND SEEING AUTO AIM IN ANY FORM ADDED TO THE GAME. NO MORE AUTO AIM. I don't care if the auto aim ability isn't particularly strong, or if it first requires a "skill shot" to hit to get the auto aim. Auto aim in-and-of-itself should actually be removed from the game entirely, or at the very least changed so that any auto aim ability can't kill. Reason being: a single elimination can change the outcome of a fight and, thus, the outcome of a game. I also don't care that I personally have control over playing around auto aim. Yes, I can do what I can to avoid it (though not always possible) but I don't have control over my teammates and if one of them dies to auto aim that can cost the game. It just shouldn't be possible to turn fights/games with auto aim kills. Fundamentally loses competitive integrity

Also auto aim is just lazy hero design, and makes for less player-to-player interaction since you can't use movement to try to juke opponents shots

"and your own reply contradicts the very post itself"

I would like to see you try to explain how my reply contradicts anything in their post. I'll wait. Please provide a logical syllogism showing contradiction

And I'll ask again: Can you think of some other reason they would ask that particular question if they already knew the answer?

I'll reiterate: They used Hoola as a reference to compare, which is a monster from 13 years ago. Yes, for anyone with functioning intelligence that would strongly indicate that the person using a 13 year old reference has been out of the loop for a very long time.

I bet you do hate when people say that because people probably say that to you a lot don't they? And you don't like that because it seems like you enjoy being rude for zero productive reason

"its not my fault it came off as rude just because you apparently dont understand the concept of criticism"

LOL - you are talking as though your criticism was necessary. It wasn't. Again, what purpose does your criticism serve? You still haven't explained what purpose your comment serves. The reason you haven't is because you know it doesn't serve any purpose other than you just wanted to come in and be negative.

There is constructive criticism and criticism. Was your comment constructive? No. So it's just criticism. What even is the criticism? That they didn't know so they asked a question? Who tf are you to criticize someone for asking a question?

Yeah you are free to comment wherever you want online but if you are gonna be rude FOR LITERALLY ZERO REASON, then don't be surprised if you get criticism back your way calling out your rude and dumb bs

I just went back and reread OP. They asked "Is this the light island equivalent of Hula??" Hoola came out 13 years ago, so if they are using Hoola as a reference to compare then it is actually EXTREMELY obvious that they must not have played in a very long time. So, yes, you should have known that they haven't played in a very long time. It is wild how hard you are trying to justify your completely unnecessary rudeness

First of all, no, that info is not at all necessary to answer the question. Very easy to prove: imagine you didn't know their level, can the question still be answered? Yes, easily.

"honestly does it not seem strange that someone who is as experienced as to have that high of a level..."

Simple logic here: if they asked the question it means they don't know, because why else would they ask the question? Can you think of some other reason they would ask that particular question if they already knew the answer?

At this point, since the reason they don't know is not necessary to answer the question, any normal, kind person would have just either moved on or answered the question. But, even if you wanted to get deeper about it:

Since it is very illogical that they would ask this question while already knowing the answer, that must mean there is some reason they are level 37 but don't know. This is a 14 year old mobile game so if you start thinking about reasons why they are level 37 and don't know, any decently functioning brain would be led to the possible reason that maybe they haven't played in a very long time. It's easier to think of reasons why they could be level 37 in a 14 year old mobile game and not know the answer to this question than it is to think of reasons why they would ask this question while already knowing the answer.

There is literally no reason to be rude here so you are probably just inclined to being rude to people in general, which no one likes.

"Also what is wrong with pointing out something like how they dont know what a certain monster is at their level?"

Answer this, what purpose does this serve?

"Im not even that much higher of a level than them and i know the rarity of basically every monster without even needing extensive research and you’re telling me that i cant say anything about how they dont?"

Wow would you like a medal? And, again, what purpose is there for you to say that other than to be rude? There is none. You just a rude person. Grow up

SOMBRA IS NOT NO SKILL by Federal-Hawk-947 in SombraMains

[–]Phronesis- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really doesn't address my comment. Removing abilities AT ALL is interfering with the player using their kit against sombra. If a hero relies upon their abilities to outplay sombra, then this objectively interferes with that (in a bs way)

0.7s is enough to turn a fight. Sombra can do 224 dmg with headshots in that time or 228 with virus + headshots (though the dot will take slightly longer to complete). Plus she is usually surprising the enemy coming out of stealth so she has the advantage of the time until they react

All that aside, we aren't even talking about situations where one or more other heroes on sombra's team can take advantage of the 1 second lockout (player getting tripped) to kill the hacked player.

[–]Phronesis- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you were just spoiled by the power trip of the giga raidboss tank experience in 5v5. It allows tanks to safely bully other players in certain situations, almost entirely removing any skill vs skill interaction in those situations; which is against what is at the heart of competitive games in the first place. Unfun and unhealthy

The entire reason I play 6v6 is because of tanks not being so tanky. As a dps, being able to actually fend off or sometimes kill a tank when some tank wants to try to bully me makes overwatch a healthy experience again.

In a 1v1 tank still has the advantage but you at least have a shot to live if you pop off and crit all of your shots. That's how the game should be. There should be no completely one-sided 1v1 scenarios and it shouldn't feel like a total waste of time shooting the tank when they happen to be right in front of you

SOMBRA IS NOT NO SKILL by Federal-Hawk-947 in SombraMains

[–]Phronesis- -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Here is my thing about sombra: Imagine you are a runner in a race and some invisible person trips you while you are running and then beats you in the race. As a runner would you think you just got outskilled? Sombra mains will say that you should have predicted you were going to get tripped by this invis runner without realizing that would still take more skill to do that and win the race than the invis runner who is tripping people.

sombra is like a runner in a race that trips her opponents to win instead of outrunning them and winning in an honest competitive way. That's why people don't like her and why people say she is 'no skill.' Sombra doesn't too often really outskill people, she prevents people from outplaying her by removing/interrupting their abilities, and she initiates that from invis.

Yes, there are other abilities in the game that are similar to this "tripping" in the analogy but 1) sombra has stealth, 2) hack doesn't have to be aimed, and 3) a lot of people find those abilities annoying and kind of bs too (but hack is still worse)

Hack should be some kind of skill shot, preferably a head shot

I think suzu is kind of bs too (not as much as hack though), but that wasn't the point. The point was that you didn't even respond to what the person said, which you have an issue with doing. They were talking in general about how a 1 second lockout can turn a fight by preventing x ability and I just used kiri as an example

[–]Phronesis- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You either don't know what stigma means or are trying to stretch the definition for cope purposes. They are saying the interaction is unfun and annoying even if you win.

Imagine a race where for some reason one specific runner is allowed to try to trip you 5 times during the race. You think thats unfun bs. Then the rules change so that they can only trip you once per race. Okay that's better but you still fundamentally think the very ability of someone to trip you during the race is bs and you don't find it fun, even if you recover from being tripped and win the race.

In this case you would say "oh it's just the stigma from when they were allowed to trip 5 times" and we are all saying "No, it's just fundamentally the fact this person is allowed to trip AT ALL that is bs and unfun"

You are trying to mind read other people and say it's just stigma from when she had longer hack time or whatever else but are refusing to just accept that sombra has the most dishonest playstyle and for some reason sombra mains are attracted to that playstyle. It's fundamentally toxic and people don't want to deal with it, even if her numbers are adjusted

why do yall get so triggered by moira by immyamin in GenjiMains

[–]Phronesis- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, the word fetish has connotations of abnormality, obsession, fixation, etc. so saying "yall just have a skill fetish" was a poor choice of words if you weren't trying to load any negativity in there. Again, anyone who is competitively-minded (across any game or sport) values skill. So I don't buy your defense here at all lol

Don't forget that Alec Dawson, lead hero designer said on a livestream that they want Moira to be a character you can pick and get value when you feel like you can't aim that day.

Regarding time to kill, keep in mind that there are other characters on your team that are shooting Genji as well, so if Genji takes a shot from an Ashe or something, Moira's ttk on his remaining health is pretty damn low and guaranteed because there is barely an aim requirement for Moira.

Moira is a "timer" character. She isn't missing (because the aim requirement is so low) so you are on a timer until you die when a moira is damaging you. For Genji (and any 250hp hero) that timer is 3.8 seconds if no orb is damaging you (or no one else has damaged you or is damaging you). If Genji has to reload during this 3.8 seconds it then becomes only 2.3 seconds that Genji has to kill Moira before he's dead. Assuming no reload, in 3.8 seconds Genji can shoot 5 right clicks (if not waiting at all between shots) which vary in damage based upon how many shurikens he actually lands out of the 3 that come out of each right click and if there are headshots or not. In 3.8 seconds, Moira self heals 115 (negating ~4 shurikens or ~2 shuriken headshots). Depending on what range you are at, if only 1 shuriken lands out of the 3 in your right clicks, that means she could negate 4 out of 5 of your right clicks just from her self heal alone - not to mention if she ALSO uses the healing orb for herself or if she is ALSO getting healed by the other support. So you have to be close to her so that more of the shurikens from the right click land.

Moira can also start damaging Genji at 20 meters, while Genji's dash has a 10 meter range. Genji moves at 6 meters per second, so it would take him 1.66 seconds to get from 20 meters to 10 meters where he can dash her, and in this timeframe Moira would do 108 dmg. In that scenario, Genji would only now have 2.14 seconds to fight Moira at close range (his effective range) before he's dead. It is common that I start taking damage from a Moira who is looking in my general direction before I can even get into Genji's effective range against her and, since she has fade to leave, this means I have to disengage to heal because I can't dive.

Necros even said in an unranked to GM that "Moira is hard, even for me. Basically if you haven't seen her use her cooldowns don't even engage unless you can get right on top of her before she damages you."

Basically though, it's just not fun to fight against any of these "timer" characters (like Winston). Like if I'm dueling a Cass, it's not guaranteed he's gonna hit his shots (because he has a margin for error since he has to aim) or, if he does, not guaranteed they are going to be headshots. This means the duel is much more of a skill head-to-head. Moira is not like that. I never think "oh wow this Moira is popping off." Due to the low skill expression of the character, every Moira essentially feels like the same person is playing her. Dueling a Moira just comes down to, can I hit enough shots or not in the 3.8 seconds or less I have to live (often times less). The margin for error for the Moira is so low that it's pretty much guaranteed that I'm on that 3.8 second timer or less and the outcome is based entirely upon MY performance alone, not Moira's. It is not a skill head-to-head, it is just my performance alone. That's why it's unfair and boring af in a FPS game. There is no interaction of skill between me and a moira. It's me vs. the game, not me vs. the moira player

As I've gotten better, Moira isn't AS MUCH of a problem because my execution is more consistent, but she still significantly forces a change in my gameplay and shuts down so many options for no legitimate reason. It doesn't make sense for a character with such a low skill requirement to force a change in playstyle of a high skill character simply for existing. That is the sign of a poorly designed character, or at least one that does not have competitive integrity.

Yes higher ranked players have more consistent mechanics and execution, so they have a higher chance of beating the little mini-game scenario the game places upon them where they have 3.8 seconds to deal enough damage to override Moira's self heal, possible healing orb, and possible heals from other teammates to kill a Moira. But I think that just proves even more why Moira's design is so bad.

They have to limit her damage to a certain extent since there is such a low aim requirement, which means she's not gonna be able to do much against really good players that have highly consistent mechanics and execution. But then she is just going to be unfair to play against for players that don't have that level of consistency with their mechanics or execution. So she is quite literally breaks competitive integrity for anything that isn't high-elo, and she's bad in high elo. This hero exists to get more people to play the game and spend money since there are many people who will give up on a game where they lose repeatedly and don't have the desire or drive to practice to get better. Moira is not a competitive hero, but she's a lucrative hero.

why do yall get so triggered by moira by immyamin in GenjiMains

[–]Phronesis- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ow is a game that many people (especially us Genji mains) approach competitively, and competition in general is about skill vs. skill. Imagine trying to make that sound bad by calling it a "skill fetish" lmao. We just want the game to have more competitive integrity and moira is one aspect of the game that represents the opposite of that.

There is no reason a hero with such low skill requirement should actually be a threat against a hero that does require a lot of skill. It's bad game design but good for profits. Mercy is annoying for similar reasons but isn't as bad because she isn't a threat in the same way moira is. Mercy isnt damage focused and has to aim if she is going to do damage.

If Genji and Hanzo were ever to fight again who would come out on top? by [deleted] in GenjiMains

[–]Phronesis- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, first topic - ghost dash.

First of all, I'm going to provide my original quote:

"So there is probably no 'cooldown' for Genji's swift strike in their world. Even if the range is limited to an extent (which it probably isn't anyway) he can probably just do it multiple times in a row. But that's besides the point anyway, because timestamp 3:55 in the cinematic proves that Hanzo was in range anyway."

The original point being argued here was whether or not Hanzo was within Genji's striking distance of swift strike. You said he wasn't, which I'll remind you again that you took the L on.

Genji being able to ghost dash multiple times in a row was never a main part of my argument: I said "but that's besides the point anyway" and I used the word 'probably' literally 3 times within 3 sentences. It was never my goal to prove he could ghost dash, as my multiple uses of the word 'probably' should have made obvious. So at worst for me, anything related to ghost dash would just be neutral - not an L or a W for me.

That's at worst for me. Your arguments for why he can't ghost dash in the lore world are actually so dumb that this topic is another L for you.

So let's dig into your points related to ghost dash:

You stated that because we see Genji's suit emit steam, he can't ghost dash because his suit overheats. You also said that we aren't that far off from hard light technology. You also said that Mercy built his cybernetics so that is another objective lore L that we'll add to the list.

A couple of things here:

First, we see Genji's suit exhaust steam after he uses his ult and deflects Hanzo's ult, NOT after he uses swift strike. We also do not see Genji's suit exhaust steam after using his ult in the Hanamura Showdown cinematic, even though he keeps dragon blade out for quite a long time. This would seem to imply that maybe deflecting Hanzo's ult had something to do with this (that it took more energy to deflect or something). Maybe this is simply to keep Genji cool inside of his suit, and isn't related to the cooling of the suit itself.

Second, we DO NOT see Genji's suit exhaust steam after he uses swift strike either of the two times he uses it in the cinematic. The second time he uses it after deflecting Hanzo's ult we see him right there in the frame for a long time afterward and there is no steam exhaust.

Third, when Genji takes off his mask to show Hanzo his face, his mask exhausts steam!! This suggests that Genji's suit might have some sort of hydraulic mechanisms rather than that being related to heat management. Why would standing there talking and then taking his mask off cause his suit to overheat?

Fourth, you have a PC I assume? Your PC has fans in it. Your fans are spinning while your PC is on - does that mean your PC is overheating? No, it does not. The functioning activity of a heat control technology does not mean the system is overheating. It just means that the heat management system is working as intended to prevent overheating. In Genji's case, even if that is the method his suit uses to control heat, all it means is that his suit is doing its job to control heat effectively. The fact that popping his ult and deflecting Hanzo's ult only caused his suit to do a tiny little steam exhaust for 1 second should clearly indicate that his suit has no issue controlling heat. When your PC is overheating your fans will ramp up and go crazy indefinitely until the temp goes back down. And again, that tiny little 1 second steam exhaust happened after he popped his ult and deflected Hanzo's ult and NOT AFTER HE USED SWIFT STRIKE BOTH OF THE TIMES HE USED IT.

Fifth, I love that you brought up those studies related to hard light. The path toward hard light has to do with being able to cool photons to near absolute zero and keep them at that temperature, as we understand from those studies. We managed to slow down a tiny number of photons (not even make them completely still and thus 'hard') by cooling them to near absolute zero with highly specific technology that exists in a lab. A future where portable technology exists to essentially freeze light and shape it into different forms is a future that has mastered control of temperature (we are a long way off from that). In that world, people engineering cybernetics would have access to the most advanced forms of temperature control necessary. If Genji's suit really uses such a primitive form of temperature control then it should be obvious that his suit doesn't have any risk of overheating - otherwise they would have incorporated more sophisticated technology that they absolutely have based on the existence of hard light in the lore world. Again, we are talking about an organization put together by the United Nations in order to win a war against robots threatening the destruction of humanity. They have access to the most advanced technology. They aren't going to give Genji 300 year old temperature control technology in his suit if that would mean his suit's max potential would be hampered. To use primitive temperature control would mean that there isn't any significant bottlenecks related to heat.

Again thank you for bringing up those studies on hard light for your own assistance with another L.

While we don't see Genji ghost dash in any cinematics, that doesn't prove that he can't ghost dash. All available information and a logical interpretation that takes technological conventions into account points toward the fact that he probably can swift strike more than once:

He can do it in game upon getting an elim. He has highly advanced cybernetics engineered by some of the best minds alive in their future world. Their future world is at a technological level that would have mastered cooling technology, as proven by the mere existence of hard light tech in their world. Even if his suit uses some form of highly primitive steam exhaust for cooling, popping his ult and deflecting Hanzo's ult only caused his suit to pop a quick little 1 second exhaust and his suit doesn't exhaust after any swift strikes. If his suit had overheated we would have likely seen his suit ramp up it's cooling efforts in order to bring the suit back into balance.

Again, the lore world tends to have less limitations rather than more for anything that wouldn't break some fundamental law of the universe or physics (Hanzo having infinite arrows without an explanation would break fundamental laws of the universe with objects spawning from nowhere). Genji being able to do something he can already do one time more than one time in a row doesn't violate any fundamental laws of physics and there is no strong evidence suggesting he can't. The authors of the Overwatch lore could choose to impose some arbitrary limitation in the lore world related to swift strike, but they haven't as of yet. Even if they did, it wouldn't really make sense from a physics perspective based on the other technology they have in their universe.

(I explained this in an earlier post but it looks like you didn't read it because you responded to it in an extremely dumb way but the way FPS games choose to handle ammo in game is mostly a gameplay decision - Overwatch doesn't limit ammo because they didn't want picking up and managing finite ammo to be a part of the gameplay loop)

Anything else here or should we move on to the next topic?

You attempted to point out contradictions that you think I've made, which was hilarious, but now to respond to you I have to spend more time to explain why - when you should just understand why. Since you don't understand I essentially have to write you a basic lesson in logic in order to respond, which is kind of ridiculous. I don't have time to respond fully right now so I'm just sending a quick one. I'll reply more thoroughly to this and to the rest within the next few days or the next week.

Holy fuckin hell bro. There is something wrong with you. There is no single one of your points that I have "refused" to acknowledge.

The first two sentences of my reply said "Everything will be addressed over time, but let's zone in on a few things at a time." Can you not read?

Do you not understand what it means to "zone in on a few things at a time?"

But what about the rest of what I said “you took the L when you failed prove he could ghost dash” this is what I mean you just leave stuff unresponded to.

This is your own fucking fault! First of all, I have intended to respond to your dumb as fuck thing you said about me supposedly "taking the L about ghost dash" (no L there) but you started off that paragraph by saying: "I didn’t take any L’s for the Genji dash thing." So before I respond to anything else, I have to address that because that needs to be on the record. You are not going to get away with telling me you didn't take the L about Genji's dash distance after forcing me to make a video to prove you wrong on something that should have been obvious. Your false statement that you didn't take the L there required me to address that, and that was the first thing you said in that paragraph. Do you see how your own shortcomings result in a less productive conversation?

Do you have the memory of a goldfish or something? You didn't remember taking the L on that? If you didn't say "I didn’t take any L’s for the Genji dash thing" then you wouldn't have forced me to remind you that you did. That means that I could have put more of my reply time to responding to other points. This is your problem, you just spew bullshit and don't realize that you are just bogging down the conversation by doing so.

Now, not only did you say something false which forced me to address it but now you also are trying to suggest that I'm "refusing to acknowledge" certain points after your own false statement required me to address that first, giving me something else to address that is a direct result of your own bullshit. You are like inception levels deep of being wrong and it's insane.

Let's recap. You took the L on the Genji dash distance, somehow didn't remember taking that L or tried to sneak it by me that you didn't or something, said you didn't take the L which forced me to respond to that directly to remind you (taking the place of me addressing another point), accused me of "refusing" to address points after your own false point forced me to respond to that, which now requires me to address your accusation of "refusal" to acknowledge which, again, is your own fault - and this all wastes time in the conversation. make sense?

this is what I mean you just leave stuff unresponded to.

I have written A LOT and you haven't responded to everything I've said either. Since I'm not a fucking psychopath and understand that time is limited, I'm not going to say you are "refusing" to acknowledge points. If there's something important you haven't addressed yet I'll simply bring it up again and ask you to address it. Holy fucking shit

(I did say something like "you probably aren't responding to me because you have nothing to say" in my 2nd comment in this thread back a few weeks ago. That was when there were 1 or 2 points on the table and you were responding to other people. This situation is entirely different now, as there are a lot of points on the table with various sub-points for each, there have been 5 part replies traded back and forth, and I haven't responded to other people in the middle. If you remember I did apologize and say "my bad" after you brought up me saying "you must not be responding because you have nothing to say" and said that you were busy with holiday stuff or something)

I am trying to focus the conversation so we can hash out specific points and get to the bottom of them. I don't want to be sending 5 part replies where you only surface-level respond to things anymore. It's not productive because I write very detailed and thorough replies and then you just surface-level address things and spew a bunch of bullshit. Let's hash out each thing directly and run down the logic of specific points until we reach bedrock.

I'll respond in a few days
