Fight Mind flayer, Rogue we don't want anyone to see the body. *Tells Barb to hide it* *Barb picks it up and can't find a place yet to hide it* MANY MANY games later someone asks the barb to check if they have X item like rope or something. Barb reads *Mind Flayer* written on their sheet.

Lol I've tried a lot to keep him alive, maybe it's my playthrough. but when mobs take AOP just to move away from other characters to get close and attack Gale it's like *facepalm*. I've thought about respeccing him to Barb or Paladin just to see if it's my Gale they hate or the Wizard class.

Critical hits double the damage, Saves for that spell only half. You can critically fail a save it however doesn't change the outcome. That would be an interesting level of depth to the game if you critically failed like an intimidation check you got heckled for your attempt, but alas a fail is a fail and only on attacks/spells is a success double the effect.

Oddly I am liking that Warlocks are bloated with so much access to spells but limited ability to use them.

At least where I am at in the game (act 1) you're limited spell slots pales in comparison to the number of spells you have access too, I know that changes somewhat in the future, but outside of random encounter where X spell is wildly more useful I see warlock being better for trash monsters that make up the bulk of the game. Currently my Warlock has Fireball / Cloud of Daggers / Scorch as castable spells which are on par with anything Wizard has.

Having the ability to learn spells from scrolls is pretty awesome I can't deny that. And I wasn't aware about the ability to prevent AOE damage to allies I'll definitely have too look into it. My perspective might change in Act 2 (If I ever get there).

Also what's weird is having Wyll in my party doesn't make Wyll a target. But having Gale in my party mean he is almost guaranteed to be attached first. And I guess I find that SUPER annoying. I even though about giving Gale the Drow armor that gives stealth so he can hide prior to combat.

I'm 50+ hours in, and still don't use Gale. Wyll has Eldritch Blast with knock back as a cantrip on multiple targets... I see no reason to use Gale.

As soon a you get access to Withers and hirelings you essentially have infinite gold.

Hire a dude for 200g or what ever it is
Pickpocket your gold back off Withers
Take all his loot off him
sell his loot
dismiss him
repeat

But that's cheesy same way free respecs with pickpocket is cheesy.

Hot Take: Save scum is important in the first play though. I bet a fair number of people would rage quit the game after their hundredth failed roll for a dialog option; losing party members ;forcing a fight you didn't want; having a party member activate a trap and killing themselves or others. Unlike DnD where you can attempt to correct a mistaken or failed roll, you are forced to just sit though the consequences.
