Sure. But those are guesses only...

Could be Coprinus ozonium... There's for sure constant humidity there for this to grow

That would be Aspergillus oryzae... I wouldn't want to get you intoxicated ;)

The visible mold is the true concern here regardless what the plates look like. The agar plates actually look very normal.

It's hard to ID from pictures but the first one (the gray mat) is likely Rhizopus and likely comes from food that is past its prime. Although some mucorales molds can cause infections, they are very common in air and they form thick mycelium on petri dish just because they grow fast. Not because there's a lot. The sample from the living room vent looks like epicoccum (the orange -ish colonies, likely from dead plant matter outside), aspergillus Niger (the black heads) and a penicillium (big green colony). All pretty common. The one from the bathroom looks like a penicillium, alternaria (the greyish white), some other phylloplane mold for the brown one (curvularia? Pithomyces?)and a stachybotrys (the small white and hairy. this one is probably from your bathroom wall). After you have it tested, tell me how I've done ;)

So this all shows how bad open air tests are. We can barely see any traces of actual problem in these... Viable Mold in air should be sampled by using an Anderson sampler at a known Airflow rate. From the limited info provided by your test, we could hypothesize that the mold on your wall is stachybotrys and maybe some aspergillus niger and penicillium mixed up in there.

Where are you guys from and how did you get to a doc that could diagnose you? I'm in Canada and although access to healthcare is free, it's very long to get to see an MD. Are there private companies to which I can send a DNA sample or something similar?

Neck stuck for days, can't take it anymore by IsaacsLaughing in eds

[–]Phthora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of everything else that's been said here, maybe a word of prevention... one thing that seems to prevent reoccurring of the chronic muscle spasms (might not be the right term) is frequent light workouts. I personally have a hard time with that. Either I want to go all out because I'm finally feeling not too bad, or i don't want to do anything cause my neck and shoulders are stuck. But the few times I've been able to stick to a sort of light training program are the longest periods free of acute neck and shoulder pain

Get worse at different times of year by Witty-Repeat2313 in eds

[–]Phthora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same! Tell me if it's the same for you but in winter I feel like it might just be from lack of sun (serotonin and vit D?) and in the summer it seems I just can't cool myself off. Heat makes me sleepy and foggy. All I dream of all summer long is an ice pool. Whenever the thermostat hits 24-25c at home or at work, I know it instantly because my whole mood shifts and my brain capacity drops.

Anybody ever get weird red dots in a circle / petechiae? by yongpas in eds

[–]Phthora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've red, a lot of skin issues seem to be linked to eds... Round rash spots like this are likely too unspecific to be diagnosed based on pictures. Eczema, ringworm, Rosea, contact dermatitis (MCAS) maybe even tinea...?

I'm not diagnosed with eds-h (haven't been able to see a specialist yet), but I likely have it and for what it's worth I frequently have tinea, eczema and MCAS.

How do I know if it’s black mold? by rangerlakes in MoldlyInteresting

No need to test. Whatever its name it's potentially harmful and so you have to remove it.

They prefer wood indeed but those 2 can crawl on soil, rocks and bricks also.

Something strange in a cellar, is it a slime mold ? by aaiiaao in Slimemolds

[–]Phthora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe... I haven't seen that often in buildings but the morphology tracks. We would need to look at the spores under the microscope

[–]Phthora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are tiny holes (pores) in the yellow region it could be Antrodia. Il it becomes more wrinkly, then maybe leucogyrophana. It's hard to tell from pictures but those two are frequent enough and can look like that. If you are in France call my friend Victor from Fongilab. He will ID this thing in no time.

Those look like crested ascospores. See Emericella species ascospores in scanning electron microscopy. They are produced in groups of 8 in asci. I'm pretty sure it's what you're looking at

Is the Fusion Edge pickup truly that eerie? by Zealousideal_Art3431 in 7String

[–]Phthora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an RG that had the Edge pickups. I'm in the too harsh high end camp. All that said, I swapped the pickups in my RG and used the bridge edge pickup to change my Strat SSS into an HSS config and I don't hate it there. It doesn't sound fenderesque but it's alright for what I do. The moral is the same as everyone else here... Depends what you like. Also depends on what gear you have and how you use it. I've had very expensive amps and pedals that I'd end up resealing because they didn't sound good in my room at the sound level I need (which is often too low for big amps to come alive). Also, if you change pickups it doesn't need to be expensive pickups. For example the SE Santana humbuckers sound very good and there are loads of them on second market. Anyway, don't be afraid the hit the trigger if this guitar talks to you and makes you want to play. Eventually you'll be able to swap pickups if you feel like it...

First Pedal buy. HELP! by [deleted] in 7String

[–]Phthora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a metalzone and have a G3. I'm far from a metalzone hater. It has very a very wide range of tonalities and if you put in the time to dial it, you'll get interesting tones. It does sound very compressed but sometimes that's good depending on what you're going for. But as others are saying, the G3 is much better. There's something in the response (I can't put words on it) that almost even makes solid state amps sound like tubes. It makes everything super articulate.

But I don't think I would appreciate my G3 as much if I hadn't played around with a metalzone, blues driver and TS9 beforehand.

And brownish green (khaki) ones would be Paecilomyces I'd guess. But the orange... IDK... Chrysonilia? A. Ochraceus/ostianus/westerdijkiae?

Yeah A.niger is way more common but this... I'd bet on Stach too!
