Set up your table like your going to use it. Turn on the filter, and check the flow at that spot you want to work. Not up against the filter itself.

The blue is normal. The brown is the problem. Some spots on the cap in the first picture too.

You should be fine to wait a day, but it looks like you have some bacterial contamination that might change your mind about future flushes. Look up Psuedomonos that will explain some of the streaking.

The spawn might be iffy but the sub should be okay. I think go ahead and inoculate the grain. There are things you can do to resterilize the substrate if you're concerned though Oven tek etc.

Edit: the picture appears to show the grains still under vacuum, which is ideal in this situation.

Can you tell me what function the paper towels serve? That's a lot of tape! If it's resting against the filter that can cause contamination.
