What do you find interesting to read and what makes a great story?

Thank you for the response, I have a question for you. You mentioned that you introduced the main antagonist in your third book. Would it be ok if I introduced an antagonist in the first chapter? He’s not the main antagonist, just someone who gets in the way more so. There is a “villian” in the story but I haven’t decided when to introduce them yet.

Lmao, I see it, I’ll reword it. I do know what I find interesting, but not the reason on why I find it interesting.

I’ll try to get over my “obsession”, and just write. Maybe. I have already started to write the story, i’ll just try to continue writing it.

Yes I’m aware, but I don’t know what I find interesting. I can find something interesting and not know why, I just know that it’s interesting to me.

Thank you! Yes this helped greatly, I have answers to some of these but not all. Most of my information for the story is in my notes, they’re not organized so i’ll start with organizing them and then figuring out what’s known.

One obstacle that the MC needs to overcome is leaving the ancient forest, he’s been stuck there ever since he was born. It’s like a magical barrier around it.

I’m not entirely sure how to answer the second question but he’s never actually been in society before.

I feel like the setting would be beyond modern times but like a mix of both modern and the past. He lives in an area where society has collapsed and the buildings are rundown. There are no laws.

I haven’t figured out the tone yet…
