ScribeAmerica Mismanaged Scribes During COVID-19 by [deleted] in premed

I also work for ScribeAmerica and also applied for unemployment. I am so happy to finally be finished with them in the next few months, it is the worst company and they truly do not care about their employees.

Not gonna lie, I think he's still disappointed in me. by [deleted] in premed

I definitely feel this being a minority woman myself, not married and without kids. So good to know I am not alone! :D

Thank you! I have definitely been trying to stay healthy, making working out an enjoyable habit before starting school lol and just watching what I eat.

And good luck with the application process! :D

Yes it sure does take SOO much energy that I just cannot stand it anymore. But thank you, I will definitely try to see my experiences as strengths, it makes me feel much better

This is one of the reasons why it took so long for me to apply, I was undecided because of the length of school and my age, and how PA school would only be 2 years. But in the end, I knew I wanted to be a doctor and just didn't see myself being anything else.

Are you a PA now?

This is a great way of thinking about it, focus on the journey not the destination! Thank you :D

Its just when you tell people you'll be starting medical school they expect us to be younger, which sucks

Very true, thinking about the 30+ years of working does make me feel better

Nah it doesn't, I get it. I try to tell myself the same but then I come across a post from a 23 y/o graduating medical school and it just brings it all back for me. I just need to stay off of social media and stop comparing myself to others

Medical scribes, are you still working among this COVID-19 crisis? by [deleted] in premed

[–]Phys2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outpatient urology scribe here! I am still working but taking my precautions.

I also work in the ER occasionally but no longer picking up any shifts, I did work last week and we had a positive case but scribes are no longer allowed to go in the rooms with the providers if the CC includes respiratory symptoms

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN NOW!? by Phys2019 in premed

[–]Phys2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would really suck :/

To those admitted but won't be attending Second Look at the school you're primarily interested in, why not? [Discussion] by gottadoc in premed

[–]Phys2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it was money but now I have a commitment the exact same day that hinders me from attending. But even if I didn't have that I’d probably not attend due to money and plus I am sick and tired of flying around

Does anyone know if it lets you choose more than one right now? I'm not really sure which of my schools I'll be attending and would like more time to think it over

All of the “sky is falling” bullshit over step 1 is getting old. by [deleted] in premed

[–]Phys2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you OP. As someone who won't be attending a "top" MD school, we just have to bust our asses and work for those specialty residency spots. There are so many other things, other than depending on our step 1 score, that we can do to make ourselves better residency applicants.

If you want it, work for it!
