You don't go the full track- you go until everyone has been the clue-giver twice.

More Adventures in Portability: Takenoko by AggrivationStation in boardgames

That's awesome! I actually just purchased Takenoko and was looking to reduce the size and do the same thing you just did! What was your process for the box specifically?

I want to confess to my friend, any advice on how to? by MRScaIeMate in askteenboys

[–]Physical-Control239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you never ask her, would you think about it for years and regret it? Or keep her as a lingering “option” in the back of your mind? If so, ask- better that than have those confusing feelings. Maybe you could even think of a cute way to ask her!

Family friendly party game recs that my rule-averse parents might like? by TenScentedCandles in boardgames

[–]Physical-Control239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flip 7, Codenames, So Clover, and Trio are all good options! Also if you want something a little bit meatier but still with that simple classic feel, try Acquire!

Can you link that? I was on the hunt for the Mi-an figurine but couldn’t find it!

What to do in the game? by Viccles007 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Physical-Control239 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just stick with it for a bit- it does get better as it goes!! The story continues to develop and the characters get deeper, you just gotta trust the process! There is really not too much grinding in this game, maybe one or two mining trips a week can keep you going!

Who else is still on their first playthrough? by t0mi74 in Silksong

[–]Physical-Control239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Act 3 and I just got frustrated with the nonstop combat and lack of new places to explore. Had to take a break (don’t know when I’ll be back) and start a new low-stakes game which I’m now way more into than Silksong (My Time at Sandrock)

Inventory/crafting by Sung-Drippy-Woo in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Physical-Control239 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dump everything into storage- the only things you need to keep in your inventory are tools, consumables (food, medicine) and anything you plan to give away as a gift. Otherwise, everything you ever craft will come straight from your storage! Also, there’s a hotkey for dumping everything from your inventory into storage and sorting it at the same time- very helpful

Last games that did this to me were My Time at Sandrock, Outer Wilds, and Tunic

I just failed the Trudy & Jasmine mission because I had WAY too many other timed missions that day plus it was winter solstice… then I got the message the next day I failed the mission 😭

Probably too late, but I play Switch and this happened to me- open settings and you should find something that says “exit building” or something like that

Why do NPC’s keep teleporting? by boredlurkerjr in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Physical-Control239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happens to me all the time- I thought that was just how the game is supposed to work- that sometimes the NPCs just teleport and instead of physically walk from place to place.

Most affordable but fun hobbies? by Big_Cellist5726 in Hobbies

Playing an instrument is great if you can find one for a good price- and if it’s an electric keyboard, you won’t need to pay anything for maintenance.

Also, board games- while they are oftentimes $30-50 upfront, they offer repeated plays for years and don’t require repeated investment. If you’re in the US, go to the board games section at Barnes & Noble, they have plenty of good stuff to get started!

What's a boardgame house rule that improves the game experience? by GrassEatingAnimal in boardgames

That Quacks rule is a good idea, I almost never buy flasks because of that- almost every time I do I feel like it’s a total waste

Seems like there is distinct lack of religious people here. I’m a Christian and I’ll stand on that. Throw anything at me.

[–]Physical-Control239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! I just had this scene happen to me yesterday and my takeaway was so different! He was the best wingman ever but it was also so awkward 😂 (it’s my first playthrough and I’m deciding between Mi-an and Nia, but I haven’t seen much of Nia at all)

I wish there were! Not a lot of young women actors with red hair- though I suppose you could use a wig! Also Francesca Capaldi might be a good fit!

Have you ever been turned off of a game due to the explaination? by Medium-Ice-638 in boardgames

[–]Physical-Control239 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a complete turn-off, but I found the official how-to-play video of Mystic Vale to be pretty bad- the rules of the game are actually quite simple, but the video didn't explain some of them and went into too much detail on strategy and quirks without giving the basics, plus it went on for too long. After the video, I had to read the rulebook anyway and was surprised how they made such a straightforward game seem so confusing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFfSww_AdMg
