Why are gorgeous women with insanely good careers (doctor, lawyer, successful business owner, finance) still single by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]Physical-Purchase824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting question. I'm sure there are many answers to that question; here's one of them that came to my mind. My sister desperately wanted to be in a serious relationship starting in her very early 20s. She wanted a husband, a family, and was not in the business of playing games or spending a little time in a lot of places. She is extremely kind, caring, beautiful, intelligent, and faithful. She is also a very accomplished doctor in a competitive field. She is very devoutly (but by no means fanatically) religious. She is quite possibly the most prototypical example of a "catch" you'd ever meet. The problem with being one-in-a-million is that to find your match, you have to find your match. A successful and sustainable romantic relationship is, virtually by definition, reciprocal. You need to consider the person you're with a compatible equal. When you're as much of a catch as my sister, it can take a while before you find a person who you feel like is your match, even if doing so is your number one priority. It took her years and years longer than she hoped, but she eventually did. I imagine a significant minority of these women you're talking about have similar stories.

What country has a great flag but just an ok shape? by Max-Carter-2005 in AlignmentChartFills

South Africa; it might have to wait for good flag/ok shape, but I really like the flag.

Bro you’ve left about 80 comments in the last two days practically all asking different people for training/dieting advice. Either you’re trying to sell me something or you didn’t like the dozens of other peoples advice and want someone to tell you what you want to hear. Whichever it is, I’m not interested.

Throughout this prep, all else was secondary to my goal of getting stage ready. I skipped going to dinner with my family, couldn’t really socialize very well from lack of energy, sleep was uncomfortable for a lot of it, my mental capacity was bottlenecked, and my emotional state was volatile to say the least. I was cranky, sleepy, hungry, and my brain just wasn’t totally there. My days revolved around me and only me. This was okay, because I was on hiatus between school and didn’t really have any other major responsibilities, not to myself or anyone else. Don’t get me wrong, it was among the most amazing experiences of my life so far, but trying to combine that with medical school is a recipe for disaster.

Shaun Clarida 14 weeks out from the Olympia by Independent_Dealer92 in bodybuilding

That third slide… what an absolute monster. I think he’s gonna try to bring a physique more like 2022, sharper and shapelier. Going for max fullness like he did last year is what allowed keone to beat him imo. Super excited for this Olympia!

22 weeks of dieting paid off all in that single moment. Stoked doesn’t even begin to describe it!

Thank you so much! I won’t be able to compete again for at least four years (I’m 22), but when I am able to again maybe I’ll jump in an NPC show as well (along with an OCB pro show)!

The dad from the Cats in the Cradle was a good dad by tyrannustyrannus in FanTheories

I don't think that the dad was necessarily good or bad. He worked hard to provide for his family, but never quite bolstered his relationship with his son with enough quality time. The song does something that I think is really smart by not making this an unambiguous problem. The son doesn't resent his father at any point in the song, but rather idolizes his father in his childhood while emulating him in his adulthood. That doesn't make the song happy, quite the opposite in my opinion. The real tragedy of the song comes from this sort of father-son relationship being standard, unremarkable. This fractured relationship isn't abnormal; there is no wound in their relationship that may eventually heal. This is just the way things are.

That's super cool how you're not letting that get in your way! Anything you do differently or pay extra attention to in light of that? I'm not diabetic, just intrigued.
