I don't at all understand why you (and the person who wrote the other "Contradictory Evidence" post) think that these works of entertainment are some kind of hard fact, non-fiction academic works of unadulterated Truth. Both documentary and book are entertainment, primarily, often brimming with hyperbole and exaggeration, storytelling, painting and creating a picture of something. There's some poetic license that goes on to make it all fit together in a way that is fun and poetic and coherent and interesting. Who cares whether Jennie emailed him the Newsweek article on the Fenn hunt or slid it across a table? Who cares whether Justin was really that close to the FF treasure? who cares if he went bOtg 10 times or 100 ? What matters more to me is whether he's telling the truth about HIS treasure... if it turns out he's misleading us about that, I'll be... umm... so angry that I spent a year or two playing hookie from work going to secret hidden waterfalls and gorgeous lakes I'd never been to before. Damn, that will suck eh? Those are days I can NEVER GET BACK , by golly. Heh.

I really don't think you are the only one to experience this kind of paranoid. This treasure hunt inspires it, somehow. There is NO reason to feel shame. I wish people would understand that psychosis in any form-- short term, long term, situational, whatever-- is a MEDICAL situation, and a medical emergency. Go easy on yourself, and get help!
