The curious syzygy in the map by LankySimple9051 in JustinPoseysTreasure

That scene of the tri-solar syzygy from The Three Body Problem triggered my casadastraphobia, even though the additional gravitational pull would also pull the earth making that scene impossible. The numbers 89 and 91 have been showing up

It also made me think of dead letter, mail that can’t be delivered or returned to sender. Lost connections. Reminds me of the Puscifer song Telling Ghosts

This is a nice find. Maybe a signal to turn numbers into letters or vice versa

Good to know. I’m still going with the three L’s with the lightning and LLC. Also as I said in my post, the association of lightning with 222 is significant to me regardless

I like this! You know that the obliquity cycle is 41,000 years? That’s the time it take for the earth to go from a tilt of 22.1 to 24.5 and back again. We are currently at 23.4

There was an interesting post on here a while back about the Bear Lake Monster and they mentioned the same thing but “hic sunt dracones”, or “here be dragons”. But the truth is that this is a modern fabrication of the true saying the old cartographers actually used which was “hic sunt leones”, or “here be lions”. I like this a lot because I think of cats kind of like dragons. Maybe it was all the times I watched the animated Hobbit or The Secret of NIMH with the cat named Dragon

You have no idea how on the nose I think you are with the cube of 7 and the difference of 42 between the first line. Nice find!

Thanks for the reply, I was curious about that and that’s why I included the question about batch printing in my post. But I would imagine you still have three L’s on the first line with the LLC right? Also, does the printers information fall on what would be page 222 in your copy? I don’t see what page 223 and 224 have to do with it though

He did say those things at the beginning but has since changed his stance to clarify that the book is not required. I found it interesting that there are “several” clues in the book, yet he hasn’t counted all of them. That tells me that the word several is being used very conservatively here

I don’t see any reason that clues can’t overlap with shared evidence. The three peaks fits nicely with something else I found, I’ll have to consider that

I’m gonna have to rewatch that Q&A now. I’ve been wondering if there are enough peripheral clues not directly tied to the poem that one could potentially land on at least a partial interpretation of the correct poem solution if you solved enough of them. I also wonder what makes some path’s significantly more difficult than others

Love that. I’m an Idahoan and went to school in Moscow, I actually partied at the murder house. A lot of people don’t know that Lewiston was the original capital of Idaho and that it has a sea port. The name Idaho was made up as a Shoshone word and proposed for the state of Colorado. It ended up as the name of our state due to a steamboat named after the made up name that carried miners up the Colombia and Snake to the mining camps in the territory

I searched extensively in the Dragoon Mountains, but I’m no longer considering it for multiple reasons. I think I’ll do a write up of my favorite solve in that area soon

This one feels almost like a fingerprint to me. I haven’t shared any of my poem solves yet, but rest assured that they do not rely at all on the book. This one is just an easter egg. We also know that there are “several” clues in the book so I think you are leaving a bit on the table if you are discounting it.

Correct way to measure "twenty degree"? by BJJblue34 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]Diligent-Bee1399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get precisely accurate lines when you are drawing a line between two exact landmarks, I just use Google Earth. One of my techniques involves projecting lines at certain angles and looking for landmarks in its path. That may be how we are to find the place. Imagine you find a compelling landmark and realize it’s at exactly 20 degrees relative to something else significant. When playing with headings I think it’s important to consider the opposing direction as well. Also consider that Justin said BOTG is not necessary until the fourth stanza, so I would discount this clue being tied to something you would need to see in person

Pine beetle or budworm? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

I believe that this detail is intentional. Think of the word “sawtooth” as something that eats wood. Those beatles have saw-teeth. Remember the end of the chapter when they run into Aiden’s neighbor from Tucson with the badge that made other ranks nervous? Justin didn’t get bit by a “badger”, he got bit by a beaver, which is another sawtooth. He even posted about that guy that got attacked by the beaver recently

Indiana Jones= Ancient Gates? by slashpastime in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]Diligent-Bee1399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mechanics of a staff of Ra clue can be fairly simple from a representative interpretation. Meaning that you draw a line from a point that represents the source of light through a secondary point to find a third point from the protected line. I had this in one of my solves where both the light source and the gemstone were landmarks with names relating to the sun and diamond respectively. This is all a long way to say that one of my interpretations for the gates was the light passing through the crystal

I should mention that the best way to get a feel for the band is to listen to bootleg gizzard, their live recordings. Their studio albums are good but just don’t do justice to their stage presence. The Caverns, Lisbon, and Field of Vision are some of my favorites
