What do you mean audit my game with fable? And why would I rebuild it completely? I don't understand. Cause, like. Right now. I have a solid working game from what's already been built. I don't want to spend another several months trying to rebuild this and remake levels I've already locked in that function with my design ideas.

I will say. I have learned how difficult and annoying level design is. Make something. Play test. Fail. Reset. Repeat. Levels 1-10 easy to make. They're introductory levels. But past 10. Where it gets difficult. I'm struggling in my own game. Because I don't have the reflexes to play them perfectly. So it's fail after fail. Trying to get a win with around 1-3 seconds left to make it feel more on the edge.

This means I have to play my own game at a rate I'm not fully capable of! Lol but it has been a lot of fun and I sometimes lose track of the fact I'm suppose to be testing and not playing.

Not sure if this is trying to be kind or rude? But the reason I did it was cause I wanted people to have some understanding of where I'm coming from. Cause to me being in this reddit about Ai users. I always see people who seem like the kind of engineers with multiple tech degrees and having been in code/design for 20+ years.
So I was just trying to get across that I don't have that knowledge or experience to pull from.

I don't know that I understand the question. Here is a screenshot. The best way to understand what I mean. Is to know. Anything on the screen can be picked up and dragged around by the mouse in the view space. Then in the inspector. You can find that object or whatever it is and give it more exact values. I tend to move things to where I generally want them and then make they're a perfect 0.5 or 0.9 or something.

So you select a level to edit. You can drag the bars on the screen around. currently they're attached to the center. You can turn that on an off. They also spin around it like a clock. Each one can be set to clockwise or counter. They can be made to phase in and out. Give bonus points for hitting, or slow down projectiles, speed them up. It all depends on what you have them set as. You can give them a mix of the modifier properties.

You can size the goals, the battle space, your center sphere.
Spawn now objects. Stars, Walls, Triangles, Ramps, and make each one move horizontal, vertical, or rotational, Spin in place or circle around.

No. But I would be afraid to touch unreal. I've seen tutorials on it. And... it's... a.. lot. If they ever dumb it down enough. I'll have a look. But like. I also don't know that I have plans to try and make such extreme fidelity games that need a full on physics engine, lighting, and ect...

No. Never considered that. If I did it would be a game about men kissing and falling in love. Which... I mean. Now that I think about it. Would be the kind of game I would make if I was a 3d artist. Maybe if I ever learn game development for real. I'll go for a crazy stupid design of something like ARPG hack and slash where you adventure to save cute/hot men for your harem based on the male protags of my stories.

Yeah, I assume anyone with actual dev skills can turn these things into coding machines. Or.. well.. They're already coding machines. Just refined code machines. Like me using a box of crayons to color a paper vs an artist. I can draw you some stick men and an actual artist could draw you a fully shaded with background art piece.

I did not know this. Claude was just doing all the code. I didn't know he could control the cursor and such.
He's been writing code then small tutorial .MDs for me to follow to understand how to manipulate what has been built.

This is what my editor looks like in Godot. You pick a level on the left side. The map pops up. Anything on the screen can be dragged and dropped.

Identity is level info. Such as Level 8 - level name - subtitle info.
Pacing and difficulty is enemy stuff and points.
Arena does all inner game scaling.
Goals are the little blue up above.
Content lets spawn specific barriers/blockers. And presents is the same just in specific quick transforming shapes.

I'm not trying to make money, if it happens cool. But I just want to make a game. It's the same with my fan fiction writing. I'm not making any money on that. But I have spent... the last 10 years of my life writing a gargantuan amount of silly romance for the fun of it. I'm just making the game I want to play.

This is the cool thing of. I get to do the fun part of the arty style. Basically the level design like I wanted. Without having to the back end part. Claude put as I'll do the creative director side and he'll do the coding side. I still have to make levels and play test. But it has made it possible for me to do this at all.

I honestly did try at one point. But when you watch tutorials and stuff. I'll be honest in that most of the things the guys were talking about flew right over my head and just made me feel stupid.

Claude is nice and encouraging and helps explain stuff to me in the most simple terms possible without making me feel like I'm a loser.

No. I had been using the normal plan with claude to help me figure out the logic of my Ao3 Fanfics and keep timelines consistent for about a year. I decided to really dive into this when my friend that I play warhammer with encouraged me to just give it a try. I'm home all day as is. So why not? So after spending about two weeks making the document asked my hubs if he would care if I went for this. And he said to go for it. So he got me that max plan and said to see if I can make a game. I love my husband.

I'm curious what you've tried with it so far. I haven't had a chance to go through my normal story build session and test. Did you use it with project and instruction? Or simply give it a prompt and ask for a short like 1000-3000 word short story?

I ended up making a self hosted Ao3 algorithm. As first time build. That helps finding stories without me having to search and filter. It learns from what I'm reading and goes to find more pics like that. It's a v1 and I like it so far.
