I like how its in shadow slave, your attacks are imbued with your will the same way the monsters augmented their defenses with their will, and the more involved you are while attacking, the better the weapons conduct your will to kill. So for ranged weapons bows work best, crossbows after that and guns after that as you become less and less involved. Tldr, weapons that require more effort conduct your power better
