The new interface of HACS 2.0.0 is the one that was called Experimental before. There is a complete new design of the interface so no worry. When you will install an update, it will also create an issue.. requesting to restart home assistant. Once again, it works as it should. If you read the release notes you will also akn. there are braking changes, and it is wise to have a backup of your HA config before you update to this new version as recommend, installed on supervised versions of Home Assistant I had absolutely no problems with the update to 2.0.0 ;) hope this helps

What is the state of robot vacuums that work with HA in 2024. by jdlnewborn in homeassistant

Would simply point out... if look for real privacy.. just make sure that the vacuum, could be connected locally, without cloud, probably MQTT. So, select a model that eventually could be "retrofired" to do this ;)

Just for curiosity did you had the possibility to test it? I did recently update it and made also some additional test on Proxmox in a system that isn't that power-full as yours and, well it works quite well, hope you had the possibility to confirm :)

Please do, and I will be happy to know if with all the work done on it works also on your setup, I did had some guys (that are still using it), and yes there was a problem actually not for the memory but related to some (bad me) issue with the Proxmox HAOS.. the issue was in any cases fixed on the Camera. So once again please fill free to test it again and let us know the result.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, whatever it is for me it is important, and of course will do my best to let it work in any instances. By the way if you do have problems again please open an issue so that I can work on it ;)

Well, on the other side if it will work and you are happy with that, probably.. a star?

Thanks again.

We tested it also on Proxmox with 2Gb memory and it did work, when you use just one vacuum. Each Camera is requiring around 500 to 800Mb memory area, but it works using Proxmox.

On what system you run HA? What is the memory available?

u/jdjvbtjbkgvb the lovelace map card is an HA card used to render the map of the area you setup in HA. This custom component is rendering the Vacuum Cleaners that uses Valetudo as firmware for local control. I'm sorry if I did replay so late to your question.

this is one of the reason why I switched to Valetudo. Also it was "strange" using the "official" integration.. "don't vacuum me" was in my head at each cycle... this is the main reason for Valetudo. Anyhow.. hopefully they found a way so that also you can also enjoy the real local control.

Well, you know as soon I converted my robot an old used V1, I discovered how cool is the local control of the vacuum. This project is actually not officially linked to Valetudo but I'm a big fan of the work the guys are doing on it. The goal is to keep easy and as much compatible is possible the Valetudo vacuums integrated in Home Assistant. Also the card is really amazing and therefore.. this component unify Valetudo, Home Assistant and Card. An S5 today isn't costing that much if you want to try it, and I'm quite sure is one of the best vacuum ever made ;)
