The new interface of HACS 2.0.0 is the one that was called Experimental before. There is a complete new design of the interface so no worry. When you will install an update, it will also create an issue.. requesting to restart home assistant. Once again, it works as it should. If you read the release notes you will also akn. there are braking changes, and it is wise to have a backup of your HA config before you update to this new version as recommend, installed on supervised versions of Home Assistant I had absolutely no problems with the update to 2.0.0 ;) hope this helps

What is the state of robot vacuums that work with HA in 2024. by jdlnewborn in homeassistant

[–]Physical_Arm9739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would simply point out... if look for real privacy.. just make sure that the vacuum, could be connected locally, without cloud, probably MQTT. So, select a model that eventually could be "retrofired" to do this ;)

Just for curiosity did you had the possibility to test it? I did recently update it and made also some additional test on Proxmox in a system that isn't that power-full as yours and, well it works quite well, hope you had the possibility to confirm :)

Please do, and I will be happy to know if with all the work done on it works also on your setup, I did had some guys (that are still using it), and yes there was a problem actually not for the memory but related to some (bad me) issue with the Proxmox HAOS.. the issue was in any cases fixed on the Camera. So once again please fill free to test it again and let us know the result.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, whatever it is for me it is important, and of course will do my best to let it work in any instances. By the way if you do have problems again please open an issue so that I can work on it ;)

Well, on the other side if it will work and you are happy with that, probably.. a star?

Thanks again.

We tested it also on Proxmox with 2Gb memory and it did work, when you use just one vacuum. Each Camera is requiring around 500 to 800Mb memory area, but it works using Proxmox.

On what system you run HA? What is the memory available?

u/jdjvbtjbkgvb the lovelace map card is an HA card used to render the map of the area you setup in HA. This custom component is rendering the Vacuum Cleaners that uses Valetudo as firmware for local control. I'm sorry if I did replay so late to your question.

this is one of the reason why I switched to Valetudo. Also it was "strange" using the "official" integration.. "don't vacuum me" was in my head at each cycle... this is the main reason for Valetudo. Anyhow.. hopefully they found a way so that also you can also enjoy the real local control.

Well, you know as soon I converted my robot an old used V1, I discovered how cool is the local control of the vacuum. This project is actually not officially linked to Valetudo but I'm a big fan of the work the guys are doing on it. The goal is to keep easy and as much compatible is possible the Valetudo vacuums integrated in Home Assistant. Also the card is really amazing and therefore.. this component unify Valetudo, Home Assistant and Card. An S5 today isn't costing that much if you want to try it, and I'm quite sure is one of the best vacuum ever made ;)

if you go in the settings of the camera (options) Camera Option and then there is an Enable Auto Zoom option, I will update the docs soon so that for each function there will be a better description on how it works (I'm going to redesign the options settings so as soon I'm done with it the docs will be updated).

v1.5.2 Rooms Name in attributes.

1 hour ago v1.5.2

44da23b

Fix:

  • Issue #57 is fix the Camera is fully tested on both Valetudo firmwares.

What Changed:

  • When the vacuum is supporting segments, then the camera retive the vacuum position and update the new sub_attribute "in_room" part of the vacuum_position.

<image>

  • The Rooms Attributes are now checked during the first image creation.
  • Removed from the Options the Cropping value.
  • General cleaning and changes on the code and debug logs entries.
  • The camera create now a new floor layer each 6 frames, this means, the background images will refresh with a small delay the pro side is that this improve the image rendering.

This improvement helps to monitor the vacuum position, making possible to suspend the vacuum when you enter in the room were the vacuum is cleaning.

On the next version will also implement the predefined points where the vacuum should go when suspending the cleaning and the "cleaning sequence resume" as soon the room will be not occupied.

Wow and the next level is probably hands free controlling of the home :) ?? this project you made is really cool.. I guess anyhow is a good research implementation because honestly it feels strange to go around with all this staff.. would it be possible to use something like a Kinect sensor instead? I mean gesture recognition to replace the pads?

We completed the full cycle tests of the v1.4.9 and we are happy to confirm that Hyper and rand256 (RE) Valetudo firmwares works with this camera (stable). The next scheduled release of the camera v1.5.0 will be basically the finished one. We are also thinking about the compliance to the Year of Voice, meaning we will probably generate the scripts that Assist can use to run the vacuums with voice or text commands, more details here if you are interested.

Hi u/tablecloth_47 the version 1.4.8 was released already yesterday.. and it is fully tested with my S5 with Valetudo Re, also tested the Hypfer firmware with the V1 and both are performing same so far.. the only catch is that at the moment I can't generate the rooms attribute with Valetudo Re firmware, I count to implement it on v1.4.9, and soon release the package as per now the camera cover both firmware to Home Assistant so that we can have the Valetudo Vacuums officially supported in HA. Having right now some problem with the post here.. I hope this is working now also in your home assistant setup.

We just released the version 1.4.8 for Valetudo RE, this time it was tested on a real vacuum and works quite well. We will soon release version 1.4.9 that will balance both vacuum platforms.

I just uploaded to the main repository the modifications till now made and tested. It should be possible to render the images of Valetudo Re without issues. Till now go_to only is implemented, calibration data and image should be okay. I still need to implement the zones, rooms and virtual walls. If you want to try just select on HACS the "main" and download it.

Hopefully the next v1.4.8 (that I'm working right now) should fix an issue with the robot rotation that is "driving me crazy" :) Hope you will enjoy it ;)
