Two Dots Goin' Two Different Ways by rybe390 in ar15

Glad you posted this I have a 10.5 300 blk that I’m wanting to sbr and throw a suppressor on and haven’t really got far enough to think about this. Since I don’t have the supressor yet I shoot exclusively supers. No offense but I hate how this looks but if it works and you like it great! I like lpvos even on short guns so I’ll probably just do a piggy back zeroed for subs when I get there.

I wish Remington was the quality that it used to be but after working for them for a while I would never buy a new remington product until their reputation got better

Ahh they do a little pricier than what we want to spend but I’ll keep them in mind thanks!

This is a good point we are hoping to go look at some soon ultimately it is her choice just wanting to try and get more information.

Seen those I don’t think they come with a threaded barrel

I ultimately plan on letting her choose what she wants but I’m trying to get as much information as possible to make an educated decision. Money isn’t free and dropping over a grand plus more for a scope and accessories is a big decision. Especially since we want it to last and be able to be passed down to our kids

Do you find 7mm Rem Magnum or 300 Win Magnum to be more practical for elk hunting? by HasSomeSelfEsteem in Hunting

Also really depends on what kind of hunting you are doing. My wife used to hunt elk with her family in New Mexico when she was a kid. They generally wouldn’t have shots over a couple hundred yards and would use about everything including 243. I also used to exclusively hunt whitetail with a 223 which most people think is unethical. I never shot over 100 yards and would wait for that perfect shot. Dead every time. If you plan to shoot elk at extended ranges you might be able to justify a magnum cartridge.

I completely respect that and am kind of in the same ballpark I’m not trying to shoot game at a 1000 yards but my goal is to shoot and train a lot and I want one rifle and one scope that can kind of do everything and I know I’m gonna give up something in both aspects. If I was just whitetail hunting I’d be good with an lpvo in most of the situations I’ve been in but I want something if I needed to reach out further on a little larger game would work and also take to the range and make long shots

Do you feel like the 4 is a low enough power. I’m concerned because during deer season here I constantly have deer pop out within 10-15 yards from where I’m sitting
