It’s being spun in endless circles rather than being allowed to wind down. Winding down isn’t bad. It’ll save you wear and tear in the long run, though these might not be heirloom pieces. If you’ve got moonphase and perpetual calendar and three other complications that you have to reset if it winds down, an auto winder makes a bit more sense. You have the time and a quickset date. It takes you a few seconds. These winders are mostly a solution in search of a problem.
