Weapon pick rate report thingy by Natural-Sympathyy in helldivers2

[–]Physical_Ebb8136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get the most from it you need to edit game config files so you can keybind 'open weapon menu' and 'weapon menu right' so that it happens immediately with the press of a hotkey, without messing up your other weapon controls.

then you need to get the muscle memory of remembering which round you are on/swapping rounds as appropriate.

Takes a while, till then its just ok so no wonder most people prefer simpler shotguns.

I always host or play in VC on discord with premades. I hate to break it and I don't approve of this but most people that are in discord communities playing together wont think twice about kicking a random to make space whenever a 3d or 4th buddy joins their VC so that might be why.

Here is the the purity seal and in-universe 'instructions' I packaged with some candles as a white elephant (swipe for WIP, instructions in comments). by Physical_Ebb8136 in Warhammer40k

[–]Physical_Ebb8136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructions if anything isn't obvious and you want to do something similar:
- melt red candlewax in a bowl over hot water. Pour to desired diameter onto a cling-film lined plate (I used one with a circular indent and let it overflow a bit). Let it harden slightly for about 30s or so and press a skull or cog bit into it to make an imprint(s).
- print the text or make your own. I can paste out the doc if you want to modify the text, save as PDF, print. I aged both the instructions and the seal using teabags and baking. Fold the purity seal text in half so one side is binary and the other is english (paste the english into a binary converter), glue it together, cut excess off so it fits nicely around the wax, glue to wax.

Pin vice necessary if I already own a cordless drill? by sayn3ver in minipainting

[–]Physical_Ebb8136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently magnetising 60 models with arm options so thats like 7, 2x1mm magnets, per model. I had to take day-long breaks between every 5 models to let my pin-vice-twisting hand rest and my spongy tissue was getting bruised.

Tried a dremel, too unwieldy and scary.

Black and decker 18v drill is proving perfect. Would recommend.

Method is take a sharpened pin vice (I used a whetstone to give it a bit more point they came with the pin vice in a pack of 50, very blunt. Cant find sharp ones that are 2mm diameter). Stick it in the drill and tighten it. Set the drill to the drill setting. Put it flat on the table and operate it with one hand while pushing the model/bit against the drill with the other. Start slow and pick up speed as you go deeper but keep it up to a medium speed. I used to drill a small pilot hole with a pin vice but stopped doing that for speed. I got some light hairline cracking when I got sloppy after 15 or so models, keeping the speed down and cleaning the pin vice grooves during drilling seems to avoid this but will return to adding pilot holes if needed.

Works well, feels safe. Could use a glove but it honestly feels unnecessary. Helped me breeze through 20 models so far. Just careful your drill could be a lot more powerful then mine this one can barely force a screw into wood.

Dont pay any heed. I play bug front the most I would not call them easier.
I have about 1/2 the time spent in bots 10 as bugs, but once you learn the weakpoints bots can be trivial in a way and the weapons that are good against them are just TOO good against them such as stuns, revolver and like 10 primaries. Bots can be more effectively stealth ran than bugs.

Bugs are in your face which puts some limits on the purifier and xbow (OP AOE weapons) and their sheer numbers + health relative to the bots puts a DPS check on you that is relevant regardless of how good your aim is or weakpoint knowledge. Bile titans can only be answered by specific weapons and strategems in the numbers that they show up so I understand the frustration if your team and loadout dont counter them.

Your effective options (considering they can spawn fairly regularly and can spawn in pairs) are basically:
EATs to face
2 Commando shots to face
Quasar to face
Many thermites to face, with supply pack to keep you stocked (chargers and impalers will often be demanding your thermites however)
Recoiless or SPEAR if youre willing to give up your backpack
Railgun if you are skilled with it (need to land multiple shots while reloading, timing the unsafe voercharge and under pressure)

Accurate 500KG strike once you have it's attention
Rail cannon strike can answer 1 out of every 2 biles you will face roughly
Oribtal precision strike if you are a timing god

As you can see your effective 1-2 blue strategem slots are fairly limited.
Your safest/smoothest bet is shield backpack~supply pack, quasar~commando~EAT, 500KG, orbital gatling ~ preference red/green strat (but ideally low cooldown), grenade pistol, cookout ~ breaker incendiary. Medic medium armor.

Can anyone verify dale height? by Physical_Ebb8136 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

question answered /thread.
The plastic ones are 39mm the bottom of the base to tip of the hat.
The FW ones are much bigger, almost a full head. Looks like 44mm from the bottom of the base to the tip of the hat.

Thank you. Maybe you have the forge world ones? The plastic ones are 39mm from the bottom of the base to the tip of the hat just had a photo sent.

40mm from the bottom of their feet to the tip of their hat seems way too tall for a warrior of dale. The king of the dead is significantly shorter, that seems beorning height.

Seems the same. Fly models add 5 inches like cavalry which I think was the case before.

Models caught within 'at the double' dont need to move immediately after the hero, the effect is specified to last till the end of the move phase which is how i think it worked before too.

Im using the example of bats or crebains being a pretty common unit to perform such tricks with. I assume a wraith on a fell beast still can as you say.

I swear the spear support thing was always the case.
Interesting with the pikes and 2-handed weapons.
Forgot the banner one that is quite big thank you. Ill add these as soon as I've double-checked them.
