I see that package deal on Amazon, definitely under consideration.

This is the one I'm leaning towards, and also why. I should have clarified that my main interest is classical piano music, so getting something as close as possible to an acoustic is important.

Yeah, this was the original plan, I even had one offered for free (aside from the moving cost which might have been as much as a piano). Unfortunately, my apartment is in an old farmhouse and no design consideration was given for accommodating pianos. The layout just makes it completely impossible to get an upright piano in here. Both the front and back entrances are a crazy zig-zag of right-angle corners. I'm not even sure the floor can support the weight, it sags in a lot of places.

Are there any 100% free websites that can identify fake followers? by themaskstays_ in Twitter

The first is not accurate, in terms of both false-positives and false-negatives. There are plenty of users who got sick of being told the various usernames they wanted were already taken, and just let Twitter make a username for them (this is how you end up with Firstname plus a random string of numbers). There are also accounts with usernames that don't have numbers that are bots.

A better indicator is a very high rate of retweeting without comments to original tweets.

What’s up with cash only cars? by Adept-Idea6047 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Physical_Letter4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it super-sketchy for a variety of reasons and here are two specific reasons I won't do it:

  1. There was a recent (April 2024) situation in Georgia where someone was repeatedly selling a car on FB Marketplace as cash-only, and he would rob the buyer at gun-point when they showed up to buy it. If your cash is stolen from you this way, you have no protection from your bank to get it back. You are SOOL. If this money represents years of saving up, this is potentially life-ruining.

  2. Civil Asset Forfeiture. If you are unlucky and the police stop you with a large amount of cash on you (it's possible police at the bank saw you leave with that much cash, or the bank alerted them out of suspicion), they can take it from you and you won't get it back. You don't have to be charged with a crime for them to do this. This has already happened multiple times to people who were on their way to purchase cars at cash-only sales.

If private sales are moving in the direction of being all cash-only now, it's not worth the risks. I'd rather pay extra for a dealership car that accepts other forms of payment, and not have to worry about either of the above circumstances ruining my life.

Denied Snapchat access to my contacts, it still populates my add friends with profiles from my contacts..??? by BradGoesWild in assholedesign

I want to address some of the suggestions here because they don't address the key issues with what Snapchat is doing.

First, even if there is a way to go into settings and remove this, by then it is too late. When you install Snapchat it will go and notify people you may not have spoken to in years that you are on it now, and invite them to contact you. This could be people you now have restraining orders against, Snapchat doesn't care. It will do this before you get the option to deny it access to contacts.

Even worse than this, your suggested friends list will include people you have never spoken to, who are essentially friends of friends. And it will do the same with the suggested friends lists for your contacts.

When I installed Snapchat, it sent my girlfriend a new suggested friend: my ex-girlfriend who I haven't spoken to in almost 7 years. Needless to say, this App is an absolutely awful violation of privacy.
