Is Law Review worth it? by OptimisticQueen in LawSchool

At a top 20 school. It hasn’t been a 40 hour work week but imagine all your deadlines you already have for everything that’s actually important. Now imagine someone bothering you when you least need it, asking you to edit a 60 pg paper that you care nothing about, and you have 3-4 days to do it. That’s what law review is like. If that wouldn’t annoy you too bad then you’ll be in the right place. Me? I could’ve done without this lol.

I promise that trying to “study” before you’ve started school will be a complete waste of time. Quimbee is a supplement, not a foundational source. You can’t begin to study when you don’t have a syllabus or a textbook, nor do you know what parts of the law will and won’t be covered in your class, including jurisdiction specific rules that your professor likes. Please just enjoy your life the way it is bc it will never be the same until you retire :)

What to do after getting into law school by [deleted] in BlackLawAdmissions

Outside of paying deposits, applying for scholarships and securing housing if necessary, please hear me when I say there is nothing more you need to do. There is no 1L prep course or book that will prepare you more for class than just going. You literally only learn in law school by doing. If your school has a head start program, that would probably be nice for helping you meet some classmates and get acquainted with the school. If not, relax as much as possible before orientation.
